Bad night for me yesterday with an embarrassing effort by the Stars getting shut out 3-0 at home, so I went 0-2 to lose 4 units. Let’s bounce back tonight with Game 3 in the East of what’s looking like it’ll be a sweep.
Game 3: Panthers vs. Hurricanes (8:00)
I thought Carolina would maybe win a game or two this series, but they’re getting swept. The Canes weren’t as awful as their 5-2 loss in Game 1 looked, with a fantastic performance in goal from Bobrovsky in a game they outshot the Panthers 33-20 and generated an expected goal rate of 3.73 to Florida’s 2.2. In Game 2 on Wednesday night though, the Hurricanes got completely dominated in every facet of the game, getting blown out 5-0 at home to go down 2-0 in the series, only generating 17 shots on goal and having Freddy Andersen chased out of the net. I think this series is gonna be a sweep again, even worse than they did when these teams played in 2023. I’ll take Florida at home for 3 units, along with another unit on the puck line. I’m also going to go back to the under on Freddy Andersen saves for half a unit, which has hit in his last eight games and was an easy cash in Game 2 when I jumped on that trend.
