Last week Bachelor in Paradise completely changed. Entirely new game. This is a 50k game show now centered around relationships, and that cranks up the drama and the stakes.
We got the old theme song back this week! Except without any people in it besides Faith and a bunch of animals. I do kind of like it though.
We do see Faith and Kim really kicking it off and connecting, contrasting to Jonathan and Lea’s thing of her friend zoning him.
The relationship test challenge for this week is secret rendezvous, with everyone voting as a group on which guy does not get a rose for the week. Everyone starts in an individual booth and as a group everyone writes answers to five questions with the winner being the couple that has the most of the same answers. But if there are any non-couples with five matching answers, with them secretly both entering the circle and getting the chance at a “secret rendezvous”. The winning couple is surprisingly Jonathan and Lea, who are still friend zoned to each other, yet somehow they’re the most compatible couple. A bunch of non-couples match up, and nothing comes of any of them until Brian matches with Bailey, and tells her to consider the secret rendezvous, but no one does.
Brian leaves Bailey a note though that he wants to meet up with her and talk. Bailey is very thrown off by it. Bailey tells Parisa that someone asked her for one but she said no, but doesn’t say who, so Parisa figures it out. Bailey then goes to talk to Jeremy and says that she thinks they should send Brian home. Brian then tells Parisa after she confronts him and he beats around the bush and then tells Parisa about the Jeremy and Bailey thing with Susie. The next day Brian goes to talk to Bailey while Jeremy isn’t around. Brian beats around the bush a bit more, and then tells Bailey about the whole Susie ordeal. I do think it was the right move for Brian to tell her, even though I think he’s a douchebag. Bailey breaks down crying to Brian, rightfully so, and says that she wants to leave. After that, Bailey goes to talk to Jeremy and asks him right as he wakes up if he called Susie and if he regrets his decision to pick her. After Brian gets back to the bar, everyone else starts questioning Brian. Alexe goes to talk to Bailey to try to comfort her.
The next morning, Bailey and Jeremy talk and she tells him that she packed, but hasn’t made a decision yet.
At the cocktail party, Dale calls out Brian for the story, and then Kat says that it wasn’t any of the girls. Everyone knows that it was Brian and that he lied to everyone, so he’s fucked now despite him doing the right thing, but just not in the best way. Parisa tells Brian to go schmooze with Jeremy. The conversation is ridiculous and Jeremy says he doesn’t think its his place to insert himself in the middle of it. Everyone calls out Brian on the same thing, that it should have came from Jeremy instead.
Everyone goes to vote for who won’t have a rose. The only three on the hot seat are obviously Brian, then the two goldens – Kim and Keith. First they go through the roses of the guys that are safe. Keith gets the second last rose, keeping him and Kathy around another week. Then with the final rose, it comes down to the final vote between Brian and Kim. Brian shockingly gets offered the final rose, sending Kim and Faith home.
The drama continues next week.
