This season of The Golden Bachelor is flying by, with just nine women left with Mel. I’ve enjoyed it but it hasn’t been as good yet to me as the first season or The Golden Bachelorette.
We get yet another short hour long episode this week as the drama heats up for the first time we’ve really seen in the Golden series. Nicolle’s the villain for sure here.
Peg gets the one on one date this week. Their date is at the fair, which I think is a lot of fun. Lot of time to talk and get to know someone, while also having fun doing stuff together. They have a great time together, both open up about their lives afterwards and how their marriages ends, and they finish the night at a KC and the Sunshine Band concert. Mel gives Peg the rose on stage.
Before the group date, Nicolle says that she’s essentially playing the game to get on TV. She even knocks the way the women last season looked, and how she could use the show to make herself an influence. She’s literally saying that she’s here for the wrong reasons.
The group date is on the beach and the ladies do a People Magazine photo shoot with Mel on the beach. The photographer picks Cindy as the woman to have the most chemistry with Mel and they do a bonus hot photo shoot on the beach. She’s my favorite of the cast, so I liked that she got picked.
All the ladies get more and more pissed off with Nicolle, to the point that Robin, who doesn’t have the strongest enough connection and she tells Mel that there’s some people that aren’t being authentic and are there for the wrong reasons. Mel kind of writes it off and says he thinks everyone is genuine there. Mel gives the rose to Carol, who has been very reserved, but finally opens up to Mel. Good pick.
All of the ladies make lemon bars for Mel, his favorite dessert for the tailgate party. Notably, beside Nicolle, who claims she’s doing the work but goes in the hot tub by herself. Fun idea for a cocktail party. After all the ladies talk to Mel, Nicolle is the one that brings him the lemon bars and takes credit for it. What a bitch. Not here for the right reasons. Then she comes up with the idea to jump in the pool with Mel in their clothe cause “it would make great TV”…she’s literally saying she’s here for the wrong reasons.
Rose ceremony time. Four roses, with three of the remaining nine ladies going home. I do think it’s pretty obvious who the roses should go to. The first rose goes to Debbie, not a surprise she get’s one. Good choice. Cindy gets the next one. My favorite. The second last rose goes to Cheryl. And with the final rose of the evening…please don’t pick Nicolle…
“Nicolle, will you accept this rose?”
Terrible choice. I thought it should’ve gone to Gerri. I kind of figured Robin and Roxanne were going home, since neither really had a strong connection with Mel. Mel walks out Gerri, tells her she would still get his first impression rose, and you can tell he’s shaken up about sending her home. She absolutely should’ve gotten it over Nicolle.
After the rose ceremony, Mel and his remaining six woman jump into the pool.
