Sabres @ Bruins: 10/11/25 – Game Reactions/Recap

Following getting shut out 4-0 in the home opener, tonight the Sabres went on the road up to Boston for a pathetic 3-1 loss, getting shutout for 50 minutes.

Both teams looked bad to start the game but especially the Sabres looked awful. After a ton of chances, the Bruins opened the scoring with 4:14 left in the first, with Pavel Zacha getting to the top of the circle for a quick shot to make it 1-0 Boston. The Bruins aren’t a good team, but they dominated the Sabres in that first period, with Buffalo barely touching the puck, barely generating anything and getting outshot 17-1. This team’s fucking pathetic. Alex Lyon looked pretty good in goal. That’s literally it.

The Sabres looked way better to start the second period. The Bruins made it 2-0 10:21 into the second, on a shot from the point by Mark Kastelic, which got deflected softly past Lyon. Better period, but we still looked pathetic. Five scoreless periods to open the season. Wonderful.

9:46 into the third period the Sabres got their first goal of the season on a nice zone entry and a short side shot from outside the left circle from Jason Zucker got Buffalo on the zone for the first time this year, with the puck getting deflected over Swayman to make it 2-1. Ryan McLeod made a great play with around 30 seconds left to prevent an empty netter, saving it at the crease, but couldn’t get a shot to go, and with two seconds left the Bruins capped off a 3-1 win on an empty netter.

FINAL: Sabres 1, Bruins 3

Another pathetic loss. This is gonna be a long season of shitty hockey. We might have the worst team in the league.

Tank for McKenna.
