I went a perfect 5-0 on the NHL last night to bounce back nicely, winning 2.5 units. Tonight we have a quick four game slate, let’s keep rolling and win again!
Sabres vs. Senators (7:00)
My Sabres have looked awful in our 0-3 start to the season and I don’t really see that changing. The Senators are a solid team and even with Brady Tkachuk now out at least a month, I still like them to win here tonight in Buffalo. I’ll take Ottawa for a unit. It’s gonna be an auto-bet against the Sabres pretty much every game for me this year. This team blows. I’d lean the under since the Sabres haven’t been able to score more than a goal yet, but I’m not touching it.
Red Wings vs. Panthers (7:00)
Interesting matchup in the Atlantic. Both of these teams have been solid in their starts to the year, with Detroit impressing me quite a bit in both of their home and home wins against the Leafs. The Panthers are dealing with a ton of injuries already, but the Cup Champs are still a loaded team. I’ll take Florida for half a unit on the road. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it.
Blues vs. Blackhawks (9:30)
I think this is a pretty big mismatch in the Central. After getting shut out 5-0 in their opener at home against the Wild, the Blues offense has looked great in their last two wins in Vancouver and Calgary. The Blackhawks got their first win of the year on Monday at home against Utah, but they’re still a bottom five team in the NHL. I considered going with a full unit here, but I’ll take the Blues in regulation at home for half a unit. I’d slightly lean the over, but not enough to bet it.
Mammoth vs. Flames (9:30)
This Western Conference game isn’t great, and I’m not convinced either of these teams are any good. That being said, the Flames are in the second half of a back to back on the road tonight, coming off blowing a 2-0 first period lead to lose 4-2 at home to the Golden Knights yesterday (nice win for me on Vegas). I’ll take the Mammoth in regulation for half a unit. I’d slightly lean the under, but I’m not touching it.
