NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 10/20/25

I went 1-1 yesterday on the NHL for a slight 0.32 unit loss. Not terrible. Tonight we have a decent five game slate, let’s win it back!

Rangers vs. Wild (7:00)

Interesting cross conference matchup here as both of these teams have been disappointing to start the year. The Rangers have gotten shut out in all three of their home games to start the season, but are coming off a big 4-3 win on the road in Montreal on Saturday. The Wild are on a three game losing streak, struggling on both ends of the ice, losing 2-1 in OT in Philly on Saturday. I think Minnesota’s the better team here, but the Rags are desperate to score at home, making this a complete toss up of a game for me. The total’s a coin flip too, so I’ll lay off this game entirely.

Flyers vs. Kraken (7:00)

Such a boring cross conference matchup. I don’t think either of these teams are all that great, but both have some surprising wins, especially the Kraken, who are 3-0-2 to start the year, coming off beating the Leafs 4-3 in overtime on the road on Saturday. I’d lean Seattle wins this one on the road, and I’d lean the over, but I’m staying off this game completely.

Canadiens vs. Sabres (7:30)

This should be a decent Atlantic Division matchup between these two young teams. The Habs have been electric to start the year and a ton of fun to watch their stars so far. They had their four game win streak come to an end on Saturday with a 4-3 loss to the Rangers at home. The Sabres are coming off two shocking wins in a row, shutting out the Cup champs 3-0 on Saturday afternoon after blowing out the Senators 8-4 last Wednesday. I like Montreal to bounce back from Saturday’s loss and I’ll take them here for half a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it.

Flames vs. Jets (9:30)

This Western Conference game is a pretty big mismatch in my eyes. Calgary’s horrible and have struggled on both ends of the ice, on a five game losing streak after opening the season with a win on the road in the Battle of Alberta, getting blown out 6-1 in Vegas on Saturday (easy win to cap off my night). The Jets have looked great, on a four game win streak after losing their season opener 5-4 at home against Dallas. I like Winnipeg to win this one pretty easily on the road tonight and I’ll take them at a cheaper price than I expected for half a unit. I’d slightly lean the over, but I’m not betting it.

Golden Knights vs. Hurricanes (10:00)

Great cross conference matchup to end the night that I don’t think would really shock anyone if it’s a preview of the Stanley Cup Finals this year. Both of these teams have been fantastic to start the year. Vegas is 4-0-2, coming off blowing out the Flames 6-1 on Saturday for their third straight win, while the Canes are a perfect 5-0 after a 4-3 overtime win in LA Saturday night on Seth Jarvis’s game winner. The winner on this one’s a toss up to me, which I’ll stay off. I’d lean the over, and was going to bet it, but I don’t like it enough at 6.5, so I’ll just stay off this game and enjoy watching some great hockey.
