NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 10/26/25

On yesterday’s big slate I went 5-4, losing .25 units. So pretty much a break even day. Today the NHL is stupidly going up against football with a big eight game Sunday slate.  Let’s win!

Devils vs. Avalanche (1:00)

Solid matinee here for a cross conference game that no one outside of Jersey or Denver are watching instead of the NFL. The Devils have been fantastic, leading the NHL with a 7-1 record, on a seven game win streak coming off a 3-1 win against the Sharks on Friday night (nice puck line winner for me). The Avalanche looked great early, but have since dropped their last three games. They’re in the second half of a back to back, coming off a 3-2 loss in Boston yesterday. Bad loss. With the Avs in the second half of a back to back, I like New Jersey to win this one and I’ll take the Devils for half unit. The total’s a toss up for me.

Lightning vs. Golden Knights (5:00)

Interesting matchup here with how these teams have started their seasons. The Lightning are just 2-4-2 on the season and just ended a four game losing streak last night with a 4-3 win at home against the Ducks. Vegas has been fantastic in their 5-1-2 start, and had a four game win streak come to an end last night with a 3-0 shutout loss, their first regulation loss of the season on the road against the Panthers. I like Vegas to bounce back here and I’ll take the Golden Knights for half a unit. I’d lean the under, but not enough to bet it.

Wild vs. Sharks (6:00)

This is a pretty bad Western Conference matchup between two teams that haven’t been good to start the year. The Wild have been disappointing to start the year, with a 3-5-1 record. They have just one win in their last five games, coming off a 6-2 blowout loss at home to the Mammoth last night. The Sharks are one of the worst teams in the league, coming off a 3-1 loss to the Devils on Friday after picking up their first win of the year on Thursday at MSG. I like Minnesota to win this one at home and I’ll take them in regulation for half a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it.

Jets vs. Mammoth (6:00)

This should be a great game since both of these teams have played awesome to start the season. The Jets are coming off a 5-3 win against the Flames on Friday, playing solid hockey on both ends of the ice. The Mammoth are the biggest positive surprise of the season, on a six game win streak, in the second half of a back to back, coming off a 6-2 win in Minnesota last night. I still think Winnipeg’s the better team here and I’d lean they win at home with the Utah in the second half of a back to back, but I think the right move on this game is just staying off it entirely.

Blackhawks vs. Kings (7:00)

Pretty bad matchup here in the West. The Blackhawks are definitely playing better than I expected them to with a 4-2-2 record, with four wins in their last five games, coming off a 3-2 win in Tampa on Thursday. The Kings are in the second half of a back to back tonight, dominating the Predators last night, but still losing 5-4 in a shootout on the road. LA’s the better team here and should win, but Chicago’s playing decent hockey and with the Kings in the second half of a back to back, the right play here is just staying off it. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet that either so I’ll lay off this game.

Predators vs. Stars (7:00)

Not the best game here in the Central. I think the Predators stink again this season, despite them being 4-3-2. They’re coming off a 5-4 shootout win to the Kings yesterday where they were outshot 40-25 for their second win in a row. I do think the Stars are a good team, even with their inconsistent 4-3-1 record. They ended a four game losing streak yesterday with a big 3-2 win at home against Carolina. I like Dallas to win here again and I’ll take them for half a unit. I’d lean the over very slightly but didn’t even consider betting it.

Flames vs. Rangers (8:00)

This is an awful cross conference matchup. The Flames are one of the worst teams in the NHL. Coming off a 5-3 loss in Winnipeg on Friday they’re on an eight game losing streak and have looked terrible on both ends of the ice. The Rangers aren’t much better. They lost 6-5 in overtime at home to the Sharks on Thursday night and have just one win in their last six games. I’d lean the Rangers win here on the road and the under, but I’m not touching this game.

Canucks vs. Oilers (10:00)

Neither of these Pacific Division teams have played well to start the year. The Canucks are on a three game losing streak to drop to 4-5 on the season, coming off a 4-3 loss to the Habs last night. The Oilers are coming off a loss last night as well, losing 3-2 in Seattle to fall to 4-4-1. Edmonton won the first game between these teams 3-1 a few weeks ago, and I like them to win again here at home. I’ll take the Oilers for half a unit. I’d lean the over, but not quite enough to bet it.

Bets

.5u Devils ML (-135)

.5u Golden Knights ML (+120)

.5u Wild in regulation (-150)

.5u Stars ML (-142)

.5u Oilers ML (-142)

Record: 47-43 (-10.81 units)
