NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 11/2/25

Yesterday was brutal for me on the NHL, going a terrible 5-9 to lose 5.24 units. Let’s bounce back on today’s five game Sunday slate.

Mammoth vs. Lightning (3:30)

This should be a pretty fun cross conference matinee to start the day off. Utah’s off to a great start to the season, with an 8-3 record coming into today. They’re coming off a 6-3 loss in Edmonton on Tuesday, ending a seven game win streak. The Lightning had an awful 1-4-2 start to the year, but have turned it around now, on a four game win streak coming off a 2-1 overtime win at home against the Stars on Thursday night. I still think Tampa’s the better team here and I’d lean they win on the road, but not enough to bet it. I’d also slightly lean the over, but not enough to bet that either, so I’ll lay off this game completely.

Islanders vs. Blue Jackets (5:00)

Not the best game here in the Metro Division. The Islanders are coming off a surprising 3-1 win on the road against the Caps on Friday night (loser for me), ending a three game losing streak to improve to 5-5-1 on the year. I still don’t think they’re a good team by any means though. The Blue Jackets are a pretty fun team, in the second half a back to back today, coming off a 3-2 win at home against the Blues last night for their fourth win in a row, improving to 7-4 on the season. I’d lean Columbus wins this game on the road, but not enough to bet it with them in the second half of a back to back. I do like the over though, which I’ll take for half a unit.

Flyers vs. Flames (7:00)

Pretty terrible cross conference matchup here with both of these teams in the second half of back to backs, coming off losses last night. The Flyers haven’t been quite as bad as I expected with a 6-4-1 record coming into today. They had a three game win streak end yesterday on a 5-2 loss at home to the Leafs. Their offense hasn’t been great but their defense has been impressive. The Flames are one of, if not the worst teams in the NHL this season, playing horrible hockey on both ends of the ice. They’re on a three game losing streak coming off a 4-2 loss in Nashville last night, and just 2-9-2 on the season. Whoever plays Calgary is already an auto-bet to me, and I’ll take the Flyers for half a unit. I’d lean the under slightly but I’m not touching it.

Ducks vs. Devils (8:00)

Fun cross conference matchup in this one. The Ducks have been playing great hockey. Coming off a 4-2 win at home against the Red Wings last night, they have four wins in their last five games to improve to 6-3-1 on the year. The Devils are in the second half of a back to back tonight, bouncing back from two bad losses with a 4-1 win in LA last night. They’ve been very good this year with a 9-3 record. I’d lean Jersey wins this game on the road, but not quite enough to bet on with them in the second half of a back to back on the road out West. I do like the over though, which I’ll take for a unit.

Sharks vs. Red Wings (8:00)

This isn’t a great matchup by any means, but I think it could play out to be a fun game. The Sharks have looked better lately, improving to 4-6-2 on the season after a shocking 3-2 overtime win at home (double loser for me) agains the Avalanche for their third win in their last four games. The Red Wings have been a bit inconsistent, but electric to watch. They had a three game win streak end in Anaheim on Friday night, losing 5-2 to the Ducks, and dropping to 8-4 on the year. Detroit should win this one on the road, but I think the price is too inflated for me to bet on at -192. I love the over though, which I’ll take for a unit.

Bets

.5u Islanders/Blue Jackets over 6.5 (-110)

.5u Flyers ML (-135)

1u Devils/Ducks over 6.5 (-110)

1u Red Wings/Sharks over 6.5 (-115)

Record: 73-62 (-11.78 units)
