Nice winning day for me last night on the NHL, going 4-2 to win 2.44 units, hitting both my player prop parlays on the late game winner for the Ducks. Tonight we have a big twelve game slate, let’s crush it!
Keeping my write-ups pretty brief tonight, look at the teams previous games, standings and stats on ESPN or NHL.com.
Maple Leafs vs. Blue Jackets (7:00)
I’d lean the Leafs win this one at home after they ended their five game losing streak, but I don’t trust either of these teams enough to bet them. I do like the over though, which I’ll take for half a unit, expecting both teams to light the lamp.
Canadiens vs. Capitals (7:00)
This game’s a complete toss up to me. I don’t really have a lean on either the side or the total. I do like some player props though, so I’ll take a parlay of Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield to each get a point for half a unit.
Red Wings vs. Islanders (7:00)
Decent matchup here. I think the side on this is a toss up since these teams are both playing pretty well lately, and don’t even really have a lean on it. I’d very slightly lean the under, but not enough to bet it, so I’ll lay off this game entirely.
Panthers vs. Devils (7:00)
This should be a great game. I’d very slightly lean the Devils win as a dog on the road, and I’d slightly lean the under, but not enough to bet either, so I’ll stay off this game completely. I looked at Brad Marchand’s point prop, but it’s too expensive for me, so I’ll pass on betting that too.
Flyers vs. Blues (7:00)
Terrible matchup here between two teams that both aren’t great. I’d lean the Flyers win this one at home since the Blues are awful, but I don’t trust them enough to bet them. I’d lean the under, but with how bad St. Louis has been defensively, I don’t think there’s any value on betting it at 5.5. I’ll stay off this game completely.
Lightning vs. Oilers (7:30)
Pretty big mismatch here in my eyes with the way the Oilers have been playing. I like the Lightning to win here at home and I’ll take them for a unit. I also like the over, which I’ll take for half a unit.
Blackhawks vs. Kraken (8:00)
Interesting matchup here. Both of these teams aren’t playing too bad, with good defenses for both teams, and a pretty solid defense for Chicago. I like the Blackhawks to win here at home and I’ll take them for half a unit. I’d lean the under, but not quite enough to bet it.
Avalanche vs. Rangers (9:00)
Huge mismatch in this cross conference game. The Avs are the best team in the league and I pretty much like them to win every night. I’ll take them in regulation for a unit. I’d slightly lean the under with two great defenses, but not enough to bet.
Mammoth vs. Golden Knights (9:00)
This should be a pretty solid game, although both of these teams are struggling right now. Vegas is still the better team and I like them to win on the road, which I’ll take for half a unit. I’d lean the under, but not enough to bet it.
Canucks vs. Stars (10:00)
Pretty bad matchup here in the West. I love the Stars to win this game on the road and I’ll take them for a unit. They’re the far better team, especially defensively. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it at 6.5.
Ducks vs. Senators (10:00)
This cross conference matchup should be pretty solid with the starts that both of these teams have had. I’d lean the Ducks win at home since they’re playing better hockey on both ends of the ice, but not quite enough to bet it with Anaheim in the second half of a back to back. I’d lean the over with two good offenses and two kind of bad defenses, but both of these teams have trended under recently, so I’ll lay off it. I will go back to my old reliable player prop parlay on this one, and take Leo Carlsson, Troy Terry, and Cutter Gauthier to each get a point for half a unit.
Sharks vs. Kings (10:00)
This should actually be a pretty fun rivalry matchup in California. I’d lean the Kings win, since they’re overall a way better team, but I think the -180 is too pricey. I’ll lay off it. I’d slightly lean the under, but not enough to bet that either. Maclin Celebrini, coming off his hat trick night against Utah, has been on fire, leading the league. I’ll take him to score for half a unit.
