NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 12/3/25

Lousy night for me yesterday on the pucks, going 4-10 on the NHL to lose 3.49 units. Bad last couple weeks. Let’s find a way to bounce back with a decent five game slate tonight.

Devils vs. Stars (7:00)

Pretty solid cross conference matchup to start the night between two very good teams this year, both coming off losses. The Devils are coming off two 5-3 losses in a row, dropping to 16-9-1 on the season after losing 5-3 at home to the Blue Jackets on Monday. The Stars are one of the hottest teams in hockey, in the second half of a back to back tonight, coming off a 3-2 overtime loss on the road against the Rangers last night (double loser there for me), giving up the game tying goal with just 2:13 left in regulation, ending a four game win streak. Dallas has been fantastic on both ends of the ice, with a 17-5-5 record, and they’ve gone 10-1-2 in their last 13 games. I’d lean the Stars bounce back with a win here on the road, but not enough to bet it with them in the second half of a back to back. I’d slightly lean the over, but not enough to bet that either. I will go back to my usual player prop parlay on this game, with half a unit on Jason Robertson and Mikko Rantanen to each get a point.

Flyers vs. Sabres (7:30)

Interesting matchup here in the East between two teams I don’t think are great. The Flyers have been hot lately, with a three game win streak coming to an end on Monday in the battle of Pennsylvania, as they lost 5-1 at home to the Penguins, dropping to 14-8-3 on the season. Their offense hasn’t been great, but this team’s been impressive on the back end. My Sabres are coming off two huge wins in a row to no longer sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, following up a shootout win in Minnesota on Saturday with a fantastic 5-1 blowout win at home against the Jets on Monday. Our offense has been better than Philly’s, but inconsistent, but we’ve struggled defensively. I’d slightly lean the Flyers win here at home, and I’d slightly lean the under, but I’m not touching this game. Let’s Go Buffalo!

Canadiens vs. Jets (7:30)

This should be a really fun cross conference matchup tonight. The Habs have been so much fun to watch this year. Their offense is electric, but their defense has really struggled. They’re 13-9-3 on the season, coming off two bad losses in a row, losing 5-2 at home to the Sens last night (double winner though as I cashed the over and a great +300 player prop parlay), with that three game win streak being their only wins in their last ten games. The Jets have struggled big time with Hellebuyck out, dropping to 13-12 on the season, with just one win in their last six games, coming off a bad 5-1 loss in Buffalo on Monday night. Even though Winnipeg is the more complete team here, I’d lean the Habs win here at home, but didn’t even consider betting it, especially with Montreal in the second half of a back to back. I do like the over though, which I’ll take at 6 for half a unit. I’ll also parlay Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Mark Scheifele, and Kyle Connor to each get a point for half a unit.

Ducks vs. Mammoth (10:00)

I’d expect this to be a really fun game tonight in the West. These teams just played an electric game a few weeks ago, with Troy Terry forcing overtime with less than five seconds left in regulation for the Ducks to win 3-2 in OT. Anaheim’s been solid, with a 16-9-1 record, coming off a 4-1 win in St. Louis on Monday. Their defense has struggled, but their offense led by their young stars is incredible. The Mammoth are in a pretty big slump right now, falling to 12-12-3, on a four game losing streak after getting blown out 6-3 in San Jose on Monday, with just three wins in their last 14 games. I’d lean the Ducks win here at home, but don’t like it enough to bet on. I expect both teams to score though, and will take the over for half a unit along with parlaying Leo Carlsson, Troy Terry, and Cutter Gauthier to each get a point for half a unit. I thought about adding Logan Cooley, Clayton Keller, or Nick Schmaltz to it, but I don’t think it’s worth it, plus those guys keep screwing me every time I bet them to get points.

Sharks vs. Capitals (10:00)

Kind of a fun cross conference matchup to end the night. The Sharks have been pretty solid lately, coming off a 6-3 win at home against Utah on Monday, improving to 13-11-3 on the season, with Macklin Celebrini second the league in points, only being Nathan MacKinnon. They’ve struggled statistically on both ends of the ice, but this team’s been fun to watch. The Capitals have really turned their season around, playing fantastic hockey on both ends of the ice. They’re in the second half of a back to back tonight, on a five game win streak with eight wins in their last nine games, coming off a 3-1 win in LA last night. Even in the second half of a back to back, I’d lean the Caps stay hot and get another win here tonight on the road, but not enough to lay the -155. I’d also lean the under, but not enough to bet that either.  I will parlay Celebrini, Tom Wilson, and Ovi to each get a point here though for half a unit.
