NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 12/5/25

Bad night for me on the NHL again yesterday after winning on Wednesday. I went 3-11 for a pathetic 4.13 unit loss. I have to figure out how to turn this start to the season around. Let’s start on tonight’s really solid five game slate.

Jets vs. Sabres (7:00)

Interesting cross conference game here considering how these teams are coming into this game, when a month ago it would’ve been a huge mismatch. These teams just played on Monday in Buffalo, with the Sabres scoring twice early and dominating their way to a 5-1 win at home, playing really well on both ends of the ice. The Jets are struggling big time right now without Connor Hellebuyck, Coming off a 3-2 shootout loss in Montreal on Wednesday (easily cashing a four pick player prop parlay for me), they’ve won just one of their last seven games, falling to 13-12-1 on the season, playing poorly on both ends of the ice. I don’t think the Sabres are great, and they sit back at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with an 11-12-4 record. After their two big wins in a row with that win against the Jets and beating Minnesota in a shootout, they’re coming off a pretty bad 5-2 loss on Wednesday in Philly, where they scored early, but then crumbled after they allowed three goals in less than a minute (which could be partially blamed on a horrible challenge by Lindy Ruff). Even with how bad they’ve played, I like the Jets to answer here with a win at home. I’ll take Winnipeg for half a unit. I like the over as well, which I’ll take at 6 for half a unit. I like a player prop parlay here too, and I’ll take Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor to each get a point for half a unit.

Devils vs. Golden Knights (7:00)

This should be a really solid cross conference matchup. The Devils are struggling a bit as of late. Coming off a 3-0 shutout loss at home to the Stars on Wednesday, they’re on a three game losing streak to drop to 16-10-1 on the season. The Golden Knights are a solid team, with a 12-6-8 record, coming off two wins in a row after a 4-3 shootout win at home against the Blackhawks, but they’ve been a bit inconsistent. This game’s a total toss up to me on the side and the total and I’ll stay off it entirely. I do like a player prop parlay though for half a unit and I’ll take Jack Eichel and Mark Stone to each get a point.

Stars vs. Sharks (8:00)

Huge mismatch here in the West, but I think this should actually be a pretty solid game. The Stars have been fantastic, only being the Avs in the league standings with an 18-5-5 record. They’re coming off shutting out the Devils with a 3-0 win on the road on Wednesday, on an eight game point streak with an 11-1-2 record in their last 14 games, playing spectacular on both ends of the ice. The Sharks haven’t been great on either end of the ice, but they have been fun to watch. They’re coming off getting completely crushed for a 7-1 loss at home to the Capitals on Wednesday, falling to 13-12-3 on the season. Dallas should easily win here at home and the almost -300 price on them makes sense. I’ll lay the -170 on them in regulation for a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it. I’ll also parlay Jason Robertson, Mikko Rantanen, Wyatt Johnston, and Macklin Celebrini to each get a point for half a unit.

Canucks vs. Mammoth (9:00)

Pretty boring matchup here in the West. The Canucks have been horrible, with a 10-14-3 record on the season. They’re on a three game losing streak coming off a 3-1 loss in Colorado on Tuesday with just one win in their last seven games, playing poorly on both ends of the ice. The Mammoth ended a four game losing streak with a huge 7-0 blowout win in Anaheim on Wednesday, but they’re definitely struggling right now as that was just their fourth win in their last 15 games, falling down to 13-12-3 on the year after their really hot start to the season. Utah should win this game tonight on the road, but I just don’t trust them enough to bet on them. I’d slightly lean the under, but don’t like that enough to bet it either, and I’ll stay off this game entirely.

Ducks vs. Capitals (10:00)

This should be a fun cross conference game to end the night. The Ducks are having a great season, coming into tonight with a 16-10-1 record, but are coming off their worst loss of the season, getting shut out in a 7-0 blowout at home against the Mammoth on Wednesday. Offensively they’ve been very good, but they’ve struggled defensively. The Capitals have been incredible lately, on a six game win streak following a 7-1 win in San Jose on Wednesday, with just one loss in their last ten games to improve to 17-9-2 on the season. I’d lean the Caps win here with the far better defense, and I’ll take them for half a unit, especially with both of the Ducks top goalies out and Ville Husso in net for his fifth straight start. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it. I’ll also parlay Ovi, Tom Wilson, and Leo Carlsson to each get a point for half a unit. Then I’ll add Troy Terry and Cutter Gauthier to that same parlay for a .2 unit long shot.
