NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 12/8/25

I crushed last night’s NHL slate for a much needed great night, going 10-6 to win 3.89 units. Huge. Tonight we have a decent five game slate, let’s win again!

Maple Leafs vs. Lightning (7:30)

This should be a pretty fun Atlantic Division matchup as the only early game on this slate. The Leafs have seemingly turned it around a bit lately, with four wins in their last six games to improve to a still lousy 13-11-4 on the season, coming off a 2-1 shootout loss at home to the Habs on Saturday. Although Toronto’s offense has been very good all season, they’ve struggled on the back end quite a bit. The Lightning are still leading the division with a 16-10-2 record, but come into tonight on a three game losing streak after a 2-0 shutout loss at home to the Islanders on Saturday. I like Tampa to win here on the road and I’ll take them for half a unit. I’d slightly lean the over, but not enough to bet it. I will parlay Nikita Kucherov and William Nylander to each get a point here for half a unit as well.

Flames vs. Sabres (9:00)

Lousy cross conference matchup here between two of the worst teams in the NHL. The Flames have been horrible, with an 11-15-4 record, but they have improved recently with a 6-2-1 record in their last nine games, coming off a 2-0 shutout win at home against Utah on Saturday. Defensively Calgary has been pretty good, but they have the worst offense in the NHL. The Sabres aren’t much better, in last place in the Eastern Conference with an 11-13-4 record, the only team in the East under .500 on the season. They’re coming off two bad losses in a row, losing 4-1 in Winnipeg on Friday night. In Buffalo a few weeks ago for the first time these teams played, the Sabres played horrendous, with the Flames winning 6-2 on the road. The side in this game’s a complete toss up to me. I’d slightly lean the under, but not enough to bet it, so I’ll lay off this game entirely. Let’s go Buffalo!

Mammoth vs. Kings (9:00)

Interesting matchup, but not the best game in the West. The Mammoth have been decent this year, with a 14-13-3 record on the season, playing relatively well on both ends of the ice. They’re in quite the slump though right now, coming off a 2-0 shutout loss in Calgary on Saturday after winning two win a row, but they still have just five wins in their last 17 games. The Kings have been elite defensively this season, but their offense has struggled big time. They’re a solid 13-8-7 on the season, but have just three wins in their last nine games, coming off dominating the Blackhawks on Saturday with a 6-0 shutout win at home. I’d lean the Kings win here on the road, but don’t like it enough to bet on. I do like the under here though, which I’ll take for half a unit.

Canucks vs. Red Wings (10:00)

This is a pretty lousy cross conference matchup, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a fun game. The Canucks have been terrible, with just three wins in their last 13 games, coming off a surprising 4-2 win at home against the Wild on Saturday to end a four game losing streak, improving to 11-15-3 on the year. The Red Wings haven’t been all that great either, with just two wins in their last seven games, coming off a 4-3 win in Seattle on Saturday to improve to 15-11-3 on the year. Both of these teams have struggled on both ends of the ice, with an edge both offensively and defensively for Detroit, but I don’t like it enough to bet them on the road. The total’s a complete toss up to me. I do like some player props here though, and I’ll parlay Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond to each get a point for half a unit.

Kraken vs. Wild (10:00)

This Western Conference matchup to close the night isn’t great, and I’d guess it ends up being a pretty boring game. The Kraken are struggling quite a bit as of late, dropping to 11-9-6 on the season, on a five game losing streak coming off a 4-3 loss at home to the Red Wings on Saturday. The Wild are coming off two losses in a row, surprisingly losing 4-2 in Vancouver on Saturday, but they’ve been very good on the season with a 15-9-5 record. Minnesota’s the way better team here and I like them to win on the road, which I’ll take for a unit. Both of these teams have been good defensively but haven’t lit the lamp much, so I like the under here, which I’ll take for half a unit. I’ll also go back to my reliable parlay of the two Wild stars, Kirill Kaprivoz and Matt Boldy to each get a point for a unit.
