Tonight the Sabres went on the road to Jersey in the second half of a back to back, and made it six wins in a row with a great 3-1 win against the Devils.
Jack Hughes got this game going in his first game back from cutting his hand at dinner with Frank the Tank, with a snipe of a shot 8:56 into the game, finding the back of the net through some traffic to put the Devils up 1-0. Not a great first period for the Sabres, getting outshot 12-7, but they hung in there with Jersey and UPL made some fantastic saves to just keep it a 1-0 game through 20 minutes.
The Sabres tied up the game 2:26 into the second period, with Josh Norris tipping the puck in from the crease right off a nice play after winning the faceoff. With 3:55 left in the second period, the Sabres took their first lead of the game, on a good short side shot through a tiny hole by Zach Benson for an impressive goal, looking to pass and slipping a perfectly placed shot past Jake Allen.
With 2:01 left in regulation, Payton Krebs beat out an icing call and put the puck in the back of the empty net to put the Sabres up 3-1 with a huge goal.
FINAL: Sabres 3, Devils 1
SIX in a row for our Buffalo Sabres, 3-0 in the Jarmo era. First six game win streak since 2022. 3-0 in the Jarmo era. UPL was fantastic tonight, especially making some huge saves early to keep us in it, and the team grinded out a fantastic team effort to get the win. This has been the most fun this team’s been to watch in so fucking long. Let’s keep it up boys.
Let’s Go Buffalo!!
