I crushed yesterday’s big hockey slate, going 19-11 to win 10.71 units. Huge day! Today we just have a quick three game NHL slate, let’s win again!
Stars vs. Lightning (2:00)
Great cross conference matchup to start the day. The Stars are one of the best teams in the Western Conference, only behind the Avalanche with a 27-12-9 record. They’ve been struggling a ton lately though, with just two wins in their last eleven games, coming off two losses on the road in a row, falling 2-1 in Utah on Thursday night. The Lightning on the other hand have been on fire, having an eleven game win streak come to an end on Friday night with a surprising 3-2 shootout loss in St. Louis on Friday night. The fact that this league is still having 65 minutes of a tied hockey game determined by a practice drill still drives me nuts, as that was a big loss for me on Friday. Tampa’s been very good, leading the Atlantic Division with a 29-13-4 record. The first game between these teams down in Florida back in October went to overtime, with the Bolts winning 2-1 at home. I like the Lightning to win again here on the road and I’ll take them for a unit. I’d slightly lean the under, but at 5.5, I don’t think it’s worth betting. I like all my usual player props in this game too. I’ll parlay Nikita Kucherov, Mikko Rantanen, Jason Robertson, and Wyatt Johnston to each get a point for a half a unit, and I’ll take Rantanen and Kucherov to each get over 1.5 points, both individually for half a unit each, and parlayed together for half a unit.
Red Wings vs. Senators (5:00)
Not a great matchup here with these two teams on the opposite ends of the Atlantic Division standings. The Red Wings are playing great hockey, tied with the Lightning at the top of the division with a 29-16-4 record. Coming off a 4-2 win at home against the Sharks on Friday, they have a 15-5-1 record in their last 21 games. The Senators are in the second half of a back to back tonight, coming off a 6-5 overtime loss at home to the Habs last night (I cleaned up that game, going 4-0 on it) after two wins in a row, but they’re at the bottom of the division with a 22-19-6 record. Although their offense has been good, their defense has struggled a ton. These teams played a few weeks ago in Ottawa, with Detroit getting a 5-3 win on the road. Especially with the Sens in the second half of a back to back on the road, I like the Red Wings to win again here at home and I’ll take them for a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it. I’ll also parlay Lucas Raymond, Alex DeBrincat, Tim Stutzle, and Brady Tkachuk to each get a point for half a unit.
Oilers vs. Blues (8:00)
Lousy matchup in the West for the only late game today. The Oilers are in second place in the weak Pacific Division with a 24-17-8 record. They’re in the second half of a back to back tonight, coming off a 6-0 shutout win in Vancouver last night, but they’ve been inconsistent all year. The Blues are one of the worst teams in the league with a 19-21-8 record, and have been horrible on both ends of the ice. They come into tonight off two shocking wins in a row, beating the Lightning 3-2 in a shootout at home on Friday night after shutting out the Hurricanes 3-0 on Tuesday. St. Louis did win the first game between these teams 3-2 at home in November. I like the Oilers to answer back here at home, even in the second half of a back to back, and I’ll parlay their moneyline with Connor McDavid to get a point for a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it. I’ll also take McDavid to get over 1.5 points for a unit.
