NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 1/30/26

Slightly profitable night for me on last night’s huge NHL slate, winning 0.52 units despite going 16-19. I’ll take it. Tonight we just have one lousy game before another big slate tomorrow. Let’s win!

Blackhawks vs. Blue Jackets (8:30)

Our only game tonight isn’t a good one by any means in this cross conference matchup. The Blackhawks have been awful, in the second half of a back to back tonight, coming off their fourth straight loss with a 6-2 blowout loss in Pittsburgh last night (easy winner for me) to fall to 21-24-9 on the season. They have just two wins in their last nine games. Chicago’s defense has been below average this year, and their offense has been pathetic. The Blue Jackets started the year terribly, with a decent offense but really struggling on the back end. Since firing Dean Evason as their head coach, they’ve seemed to turn things around. Coming off a 5-3 win at home against the Flyers on Wednesday, they’re on a three game win streak with seven wins in their last eight games under Rick Bowness. I like Columbus to win here on the road, especially with the Blackhawks in the second half of a back to back, and I’ll take them for a unit on the moneyline and half a unit on the puck line. I like the over as well, which I’ll take for half a unit. On the player props, I’ll parlay Zach Werenski and Kirill Marchenko to each get a point for a unit, and I’ll take Weresnki to get over 1.5 points, which he’s done in his last two games for half a unit.

Bets

1u Blue Jackets ML (-155)

.5u Blue Jackets -1.5 (+160)

.5u Blue Jackets/Blackhawks over 6.5 (+110)

1u parlay: Zach Werenski/Kirill Marchenko 1+ point each (-125)

.5u Zach Werenski over 1.5 points (+206)

Record: 601-631-1 (-42.21 units)
