I crushed last night’s Blue Jackets/Blackhawks game, a goal short of the sweep, going 4-1 to win 3.33 units. Today we have a huge 14 game NHL slate, let’s crush it!
Just like I did Thursday, keeping the write-ups short and just giving my thoughts on each games, no stats, records, etc.
Flyers vs. Kings (12:30)
Real boring cross conference matchup to start the day. This game’s kind of a toss up to me. I’d lean the Kings win here on the road, but not enough to bet them, and I’d slightly lean the under, but don’t think that’s worth betting either at 5.5, so I’ll stay off this game entirely.
Red Wings vs. Avalanche (1:00)
Fantastic cross conference matchup. These teams are both struggling a bit as of late, but have been at the top of the league standings all year. With the big slump the Avs are in, I’d slightly lean Detroit wins here at home, but not enough to bet them since Colorado’s still the far better team. I’ll stay off the side here. I’d slightly lean the over, but not enough to bet that either, so I’ll just stick to player props in this game. I’ll split the two teams and go with a half unit parlay on Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, and Martin Necas to each get a point on the Avs side, then a half unit parlay on Alex DeBrincat, Lucas Raymond, and Dylan Larkin to each get a point. I’ll also throw in a .2 unit lotto ticket parlay on all six of those guys. Along with that, I’ll individually take MacKinnon to get over 1.5 points and Raymond to get a point for half a unit each.
Penguins vs. Rangers (3:30)
Huge mismatch here with the Penguins playing fantastic hockey and the Rangers being a complete disaster as the worst team in the East. I’ll take Pittsburgh in regulation for 1.5 units. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it. I’ll also parlay Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Mika Zibanejad to each get a point for a unit, and I’ll take Sid to get over 1.5 points for half a unit.
Panthers vs. Jets (4:00)
Not a great cross conference game. I like Florida to win here at home and I’ll take them for a unit, as they’re desperate to get in the playoffs. I’d lean the over at 5.5, but not enough to bet it. I’ll also parlay Sam Reinhart, Matthew Tkachuk, Brad Marchand, Mark Scheifele, and Kyle Connor to each get a point for half a unit.
Flames vs. Sharks (4:00)
Not a great game here in the Pacific. The Flames suck and the Sharks are playing solid hockey on the back on Macklin Celebrini. I like San Jose to win here on the road and I’ll take them for half a unit. I’d lean the under, but not enough to bet it. I’ll also take Celebrini to get over 1.5 points for half a unit and him to light the lamp for half a unit.
Capitals vs. Hurricanes (5:00)
Not the best Metro Division matchup. The Capitals are playing pretty terrible hockey, although they were able to beat the Red Wings on the road on Thursday in a shootout after blowing a 3-1 lead with 1:40 left in regulation. The Hurricanes have far and away been the best team in the division and I like them to win here on the road. I’ll take the Canes for a unit. I’d lean the under, but not enough to bet it. I’ll also parlay Sebastian Aho, Seth Jarvis, and Andrei Svechnikov to each get a point for half a unit.
Sabres vs. Canadiens (7:00)
Fantastic matchup here between these two Atlantic Division teams that are both tied (along with the Bruins) for the third place spot in the division and the two Wild Card spots in the East. This is probably a bit of a homer pick, but I’ll take my Sabres for half a unit at home. I also like the over, which I’ll take for a unit. Additionally, I’ll parlay Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, and Tage Thompson to each get a point for a unit.
Senators vs. Devils (7:00)
Pretty terrible matchup in the East. I’d lean the Sens win here at home, but definitely don’t trust them enough to lay the -162 on this team. I’d also lean the over, but not enough to bet that either. I do like a player prop parlay though, and I’ll take Tim Stutzle and Brady Tkachuk to each get a point for half a unit.
Islanders vs. Predators (7:00)
Such a boring cross conference matchup here. The Preds have fallen back off after going on a bit of a hot run. I like the Isles to win here at home and I’ll take them for half a unit.
Blues vs. Blue Jackets (7:00)
Awful cross conference matchup here. Even in the second half of a back to back, I like Columbus to stay hot here, and I’ll take them for half a unit after they crushed it for me last night. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it at 6.5. I’ll also parlay Kirill Marchenko and Zach Werenski to each get a point for a unit and I’ll take a half unit shot again on Werenski to get over 1.5 points.
Canucks vs. Maple Leafs (7:00)
Pretty bad cross conference Canadian matchup. The Leafs haven’t been great, but the Canucks are easily the worst team in the NHL this season. I’ll take a half unit parlay on the Maple Leafs and Auston Matthews to get a point. I like the over as well, which I’ll also take for half a unit.
Mammoth vs. Stars (9:00)
This should be a great matchup with both of these teams playing solid hockey again. I’d lean the Stars win it on the road, but not enough to bet them. I like the over though at 5.5, which I’ll take for half a unit. I’ll also parlay Mikko Rantanen, Jason Robertson, Wyatt Johnston, and Clayton Keller to each get a point for half a unit.
Oilers vs. Wild (10:00)
Fantastic matchup here in the West. I like the Wild to win here on the road with the way better defense and I’ll take them for half a unit. I like the over as well, which I’ll take for a unit. Then I’m all about the player props in this game. For half a unit, I’ll parlay Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Kirill Kaprizov, Matt Boldy, and Quinn Hughes to each get a point for half a unit. I’ll also take McDavid to get over 1.5 points for a unit, Draisaitl to get over 1.5 point for half a unit, and Kirill Kaprizov to get over 1.5 points for half a unit, and I’ll parlay the three of them to get over 2 points each for half a unit.
Golden Knights vs. Kraken (10:00)
Interesting matchup here. The Golden Knights are the way better team in this matchup, but they’re in a slump right now, while the Kraken have been hot. I like Vegas to win here at home though and get out of the slump, and I’ll lay the -188 for half a unit on them. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it at 6.5. I’ll also parlay Jack Eichel, Mark Stone, and Mitch Marner to each get a point for half a unit.
