NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 2/27/26

Last night I went 3-5 on the NHL, losing 1.14 units. Let’s bounce back on tonight’s four game slate before a loaded Saturday tomorrow!

Panthers vs. Sabres (7:00)

This should be a pretty fun game in the Atlantic Division despite these teams being on opposite sides of the standings, separated by seven points. The Panthers came out of the break with a big 5-1 win at home against the Leafs on Thursday, improving to 30-25-3 on the season, but their year’s likely over, in last place in the division as they’ve dealt with so many injuries. My Sabres came out of the break with a solid grind of a win, beating the Devils 2-1 on the road on Thursday. We’re in the first Wild Card spot in the East in a tight race, a point back from the Habs and two back from the Red Wings for second and third in the division, and a point ahead of the Bruins after all three of those teams won last night. Buffalo’s 2-1 this year against the cup champs, winning a 3-0 shutout at home in October, losing 4-3 at home in January, then winning 5-3 on the road in February. I like the Sabres to win again tonight and I’ll take my boys for half a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it. I’ll also parlay Tage Thompson, Matthew Tkachuk, and Sam Reinhart to each get a point for .4u of a unit (my limit on PrizePicks for boosted plays).

Note: no blog writing up the game tonight, I’m going to the Bandits game so I won’t be watching the Sabres unfortunately. Let’s go Buffalo!

Capitals vs. Golden Knights (7:00)

Solid cross conference matchup here with the way these two teams are coming into tonight. The Capitals came out of the break on Thursday with a 3-1 win at home against the Flyers, with five wins in their last six games to improve to 30-23-7 on the season. They still have a shot at making the playoffs, four points back from the Islanders and the Bruins. The Golden Knights have been inconsistent this year, but have benefited from being in the weak Pacific Division, leading it by four points over the Oilers with a 28-16-14 record. They’re on a three game win streak, coming out of the break with an electric seven goal third period on Thursday in LA to beat the Kings 6-4 on the road. I’d lean Vegas wins here on the road, and I’d slightly lean the over, but not enough to bet either. I do like a few player props here though, and I’ll parlay Jack Eichel and Mark Stone in their first game back since the Olympics to each get a point for half a unit, and I’ll take Tom Wilson to get a point individually for half a unit.

Mammoth vs. Wild (9:00)

This should be a pretty good game between two of the playoff teams in the Central. The Mammoth have been pretty solid, in the first Wild Card spot in the West with a 30-24-4 record. They came out of the break on Thursday, losing 4-2 at home to the Avalanche. The Wild have been spectacular, in the second half of a back to back tonight after a huge 5-2 win in Colorado last night, extending their win streak from before the break to six in a row, with a 9-1-1 record in their last eleven games. They’re in second place in the Central, five points back from the Avs and a point ahead of the Stars, and they’re a legit Cup contender this year. In the first game between these teams back in October, Utah got a 6-2 win on the road. Even in the second half of a back to back here on the road, I like Minnesota to win this one on the road and especially at + money, I’ll take them for half a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it at 6.5. I’ll also go right back to my player props on the Wild here and parlay Kirill Kaprizov, Matt Boldy, and Quinn Hughes to each get a point for a unit. I’ll also add Clayton Keller to that parlay for another half a unit.

Ducks vs. Jets (10:00)

Not the best matchup out West to end the night here. The Ducks have been solid, in third place in the Pacific Division with a 31-23-3 record, a point back from the Oilers, who they beat 6-5 on Thursday to come out of the break and extend their win streak to three in a row, and two points ahead of the Kraken. Their young offense has been very good, but they’ve struggled big time on the back end. The Jets have been awful this year, a huge disappointment after winning the President’s Trophy last year. They’re 23-26-8 despite having the best goaltender in the world in Connor Hellebuyck, who’s making his first start tonight after winning gold as easily Team USA’s best player in the Olympics. Winnipeg’s struggling big time offensively, but came out of the break with a 3-2 overtime win in Vancouver on Wednesday night. Anaheim won the first game between these teams pretty easily, 4-1 at home back in November. I’d lean the Ducks win here again, but don’t love the idea of betting against Hellebuyck his first game back. I’ll lay off the side here. I’d slightly lean the under, but not enough to bet. I’ll take a few player prop parlays in this game. On the Jets side, I’ll parlay Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele to each get a point for half a unit. On the Ducks side, I’ll parlay Leo Carlsson and Cutter Gauthier to each get a point for half a unit, and I’ll take all four of them in another half a unit parlay.
