Sabres vs. Sharks: 3/10/26 – Game Reactions/Recap

Another big win for the Sabres tonight at home, beating the Sharks 6-3 for our second eight game win streak of the season, now leading the Atlantic Division by four points!

The Sabres got on the board first on a nice two on one on the rush, with Jason Zucker setting up Jack Quinn to finally finish after he’s had some many chances lately but hasn’t been able to score, putting Buffalo up 1-0, 4:11 into the game. Alex Tuch quickly made it 2-0, just over a minute and a half later, tipping in a shot from Dahlin. The Sharks got on the board with 7:06 left in the first, with Macklin Celebrini cutting to the net all alone, backhanding it past Lyon after a sloppy turnover for the Sabres to make it 2-1. The Sabres looked dominant early in that opening period but kind of fell apart and played sloppy as it continued, so it’s good we still have the lead.

With an incredible individual effort, Beck Malenstyn dangled a bouncing puck through the Sharks defense and made it 3-1 Sabres, 4:59 into the second period. Beautiful goal. Jason Zucker added another goal to the lead, making it 4-1 with 11:09 left in the second, tapping in the rebound off a shot from the point by Quinn after some really nice job cycling the puck for the Sabres. With 30.7 seconds left in the second, Kiefer Sherwood made it 4-2 with a beautiful shot from the circle, far side past Lyon. Solid period there, even giving up that last goal late.

Jack Quinn got his second goal of the game, and fourth point just 44 seconds into the third, sliding to the middle of the ice and ripping it from a sick pass from Ryan McLeod as he fell to the ice, putting the Sabres up 5-2. The Sharks answered back with 13:04 to go in the third, quickly on a power play, with Alex Wennberg getting right in front to get back within two. Jack Quinn completed his hat trick on the empty net with 2:46 left in the game, giving the Sabres the 6-3 win.

FINAL: Sabres 6, Sharks 3

Another big win at home tonight for our second eight game win streak of the season. And combined with the Lightning losing, we’re now four points up from Tampa in first place in the Atlantic Division. This team’s on a fucking warpath.

Let’s Go Buffalo!
