Losing night on yesterday’s NHL slate as I went 12-12 to lose 2.12 units. Tonight we just have two games, gotta bounce back!
Sabres vs. Red Wings (7:00)
Big game here in the Atlantic Division. My Sabres are leading the division, two points ahead of the Lightning with a 44-20-8. We’re coming off two overtime losses in a row, not playing great defensively as we lost 4-3 at home to the Bruins on Wednesday. The Red Wings are three points back from the Islanders for the second Wild Card spot in the East with a 38-25-18 record. They haven’t been great offensively although their defense has been pretty solid. Detroit’s coming off two losses in a row as well, losing 3-2 on Tuesday to the Sens in a pretty key game. The Sabres won both previous games between these teams, 4-2 at home back in October and then 5-4 in overtime on the road in November, after erasing a 4-1 third period deficit. I like my boys to bounce back here tonight at home and complete the season sweep. I’ll take the Sabres for a unit. I’d lean the under, but not enough to bet it. I’ll also parlay Tage Thompson and Alex DeBrincat to each get a point for half a unit, and I’ll take the hometown kid Patty Kane to get a point for half a unit.
Rangers vs. Blackhawks (7:00)
Horrible cross conference matchup here between two of the worst teams in the league. Both of these teams are so bad. The Rangers are the worst team in the East with a 28-35-9 record and they’ve been even worse at home where they’re 9-18-7 on the year in MSG, on a six game losing streak coming off a 4-3 loss in Toronto on Wednesday. Chicago’s not any better with a 27-32-13 record. Coming off a 4-1 loss in Philly last night they have just one win in their last four games. I’d lean the Rags win here at home but not a fucking chance I’m betting them at -175. I’d also slightly lean the under, but I’m not touching this game.
