NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 4/3/26

Solid night for me yesterday on the NHL, going 13-11 to win 2.42 units. After 14 games last night, we have just two on the board tonight before another big Saturday tomorrow. I’m laying off both games, but I preview both in depth!

Islanders vs. Flyers (7:00)

Pretty boring, yet solid game here in the Metro Division playoff race. The Islanders are currently in third place in the division with a 42-29-5 record, a point ahead of the Blue Jacket and three points behind the Penguins for home ice in the first round. They’re coming off two losses in a row, losing 4-3 in Buffalo on Tuesday night. The Flyers are just three points back from the Isles and two behind the Senators for the second Wild Card spot in the East. They’re in the second half of a back to back tonight, losing 4-2 at home last night to the Red Wings, but they’ve gone 12-5-1 in their last 18 games to improve to 37-26-12 on the season. Philly’s 2-1 against the Islanders this year, winning 4-3 in a shootout at home in October, then 4-3 once again in a shootout on the road in November, before the Isles answered back with a 4-0 shutout on the road in January. Especially with the Flyers in the second half of a back to back on the road, I’d lean the Isles tie up the season series here at home on Long Island, but don’t like it enough to bet on. Both of these teams have been good on the back end, but are struggling to light the lamp, so that should point to the under here, but both teams have been trending over, so I’ll stay off the total. I’ll lay off this game entirely.

Ducks vs. Blues (10:00)

I wouldn’t say this Western Conference matchup is great, but it should be a decent game. The Ducks are tied with the Oilers at the top of the weak Pacific Division with a 41-29-5 record. They’re on a three game losing streak right now though, coming off a 4-3 loss in San Jose on Wednesday night. The Blues after their horrendous start to the year have been hot the last month or so, now five points back from the three way tie between the Predators, Kings, and Sharks for the second Wild Card spot in the West. Coming off a 2-1 overtime loss to the Kings on Wednesday, they’ve lost their last two games in a row, but have gone 11-3-3 in their last 17 games since the Olympics break. These teams split their first two games, each winning on the road, with a 4-1 Anaheim win in December and a 4-0 answer for the Blues last month. This side on this game is a complete toss up to me. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet that either. I considered betting Troy Terry to get a point, but I think the -175 is a little too expensive, so I’ll lay off this game as well and skip the whole slate tonight and take the night off. Big card tomorrow!

Bets

None, taking the night off on these two games.
