I was excited to try out Weldwerk’s Coconut PVW23 Medianoche on today’s Brew Review, as this imperial stout was aged 41 months in one of the rarest barrels there is, a first-use 23 year Pappy Van Winkle Reserve Bourbon barrel. I’m having my first stout from Side Project on today’s Brew Review, Double Barrel Derivation. This 16% double barrel aged imperial stout from 2023 was aged in Willett 5 year & 8 year Family Estate Bourbon barrels then finished in Willett 8 year Wheated Bourbon barrels with Tanzanian Vanilla Beans and finished on additional Tanzanian Vanilla Beans at packaging.
