Musicians are Just Different on Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart

Last week we got the first episode of the new show in Bachelor Nation, The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart. A new show with a music spin to the format of Bachelor in Paradise, with a bunch of strange musicians. Wasn’t the worst, wasn’t the best.

This week’s episode starts off with Chris Harrison telling the house that there will be newcomers this week, introducing the format that’s the same as Paradise. The first date card of the week goes to Jamie. She went on a date last week with the Ryan guy that looks like he’s in One Direction but then giving her rose to Trevor, so she’s going on a date with him now. Trevor and Jamie perform Girl Crush by Little Big Town together.

A new girl, Natascha, who looks like she’s could just as easily be on the Housewives of New York instead of Listen to Your Heart, arrives to the house. By far the hottest girl in the house. And like in Paradise, she’s friends with someone’s ex. Natascha says that Trevor cheated on his ex girlfriend and she’s just out to get him. Really gets all preachy about it to the point where its almost annoying and just seems to be starting drama. As soon as Trevor gets back from his date that seemingly went well with Jamie, Natascha aggressively wants to talk to him to “remind him” of where he knows her from. Bit over the top. Trevor says he never “physically” cheated on her but “emotionally” cheated. They argue over the technicalities while Jamie is outside breaking down cause the other girls in the house tell her what Natascha said. This shit’s so ridiculous.

The second date card of the week arrives for Bri. Her and her guy Chris, who are already real into each other go to “the most iconic” Guitar Center to connect more. She tells him about how her ex-fiancé split up over the phone the day she picked her wedding dress…then pulls and even wilder move and tells Chris that she thinks she is falling in love with him. And he says it back! It’s week 2. They do a great job singing the classic Can’t Help Falling in Love together.

Trevor tells Jamie that in his last relationship, “there was some emotional cheating”. Give me a fucking break. Music people act just a bit different than the rest of the world.

The biggest weirdo in the house, Sheridan gets a date card and asks Julia to join him. The two of them go to iHeartRadio and go on the radio together for an interview and then perform The Bones by Maren Morris. Julie’s an incredible singer and even though its not really a style I’m a huge fan of, Sheridan’s a very good singer too. She’s still into Brandon though.

Another two new girls, Mariana and Ruby join the house both on the prowl for anyone regardless of if they have a connection with anyone else in the house already.

For about the millionth date card of the episode, Savannah goes on a date with Brandon.

Rose ceremony time and the guys have the roses and there are three girls going home tonight. At the cocktail party, Mel kisses Brandon. Then after that, he talks to Julie, who tells him that she missed him yesterday while she was on a date with Sheridan, while he was on a date with Savannah. Julie and Brandon make out. So there’s three girls fighting for his rose, good for him.

Natascha pulls Ryan aside and they just quickly start sucking face while she tells him he looks like a sexy Harry Potter. Reminds me of the model in Entourage that tells E that she needs a spinner (top 5 favorite show ever). Rudi goes to kiss him after that to try to get a sympathy rose if it doesn’t work with her and Matt.

Rose ceremony time. The most notable rose of the episode was Brandon giving his rose to Savannah instead of Julie or Mel. With the final rose of the night, Sheridan picks Julie to keep trying with.

Still not the best show, but I’m still watching. Next week this thing also sort of becomes a music competition where they’re judged by their music and romantic relationship. The drama continues.
