Yesterday had a ton of close games in the NHL with several of them going to overtime. I got a nice win on Florida, but lose Columbus in overtime which was the key play of the night. Colorado came super close to hitting the puck line but the puck didn’t hit the back of the net, so I split those.
Overall, I went 3-3 yesterday losing 1.8 units on juice. Today’s slate only has five games, with four of them on the west coast, let’s bounce back with some winners. Here’s the breakdowns of each game.
Maple Leafs vs. Oilers (7:00)
I can’t figure out the Leafs, and the Oilers might suck even with two of the best hockey players in the world. They need goaltending if they’re gonna ever compete for a Cup. I’m laying off this game. I’d think it goes over and the Leafs win but I’m not betting it.
Blues vs. Sharks (9:00)
This game’s the same matchup of the Western Conference Finals two years ago when the Blues went to the Cup. On Monday, the Blues won 5-4 mainly on a 4 goal second period. I think the Blues win again here, so I’m taking the Blues for half a unit.
Ducks vs. Wild (9:30)
These are two lousy teams. Minnesota beat the Kings twice in overtime to open the season before losing 1-0 to the Ducks. I’d think the Wild bounce back here but Minnesota isn’t a team I want to bet on.
Canucks vs. Canadiens (10:00)
Montreal looks awesome to start the season, 2-0-1 going into this game. The Canucks have a ton of young talent and I think they do improve from their 1-3 start to the year. I’d lean Montreal here but I’m not betting it.
Golden Knights vs. Coyotes (10:00)
Vegas is a wagon. They look fucking awesome so far. They’re scoring goals at will and Robin Lehner’s one of the best goalies in hockey. I’m going back to the well on this one with a half unit each on Vegas ML and PL.
.5u Blues ML (-185)
.5u Vegas ML (-205)
.5u Vegas -1.5 (+115)
Record: 19-17 (-5.83 units)
