On yesterday’s quick two game NHL slate, we kept the winning going with the Bruins overtime win for two units! Up 7 units in the last week! Let’s keep the winning going on tonight’s huge slate.
Islanders vs. Penguins (7:00)
The Islanders are 2-0 in their last two games after a shaky start to the season, including a close 4-3 win against Pittsburgh. I think that the Penguins bounce back and win tonight but this should be a close game that I’m not betting on.
Panthers vs. Lightning (7:00)
Tampa’s easily the best team in this year’s Central Division. Tonight they face Florida for the first time this season who trails them by 3 pts in second. Florida’s had a very weak schedule this year and have struggled against some lousy teams. Tampa should outmatch the Panthers here in this interstate matchup and I’m on Tampa ML for a unit.
Canadiens vs. Oilers (7:00)
Montreal’s coming off a home loss last night to Toronto and the Oilers are on a pretty good streak, winning 5 of their last 6 (mostly against Ottawa). In Edmonton’s last game against Ottawa, McDavid and Draisaitl didn’t get on the score sheet at all and I don’t expect it to be two games in a row that happens. In these teams two matchups this season, Montreal won both games, 5-1 and 3-1. Tonight with the Oilers coming in hot and Montreal starting Jake Allen, I’m laying off this game, but I’d lean the Canadiens.
Blackhawks vs. Blue Jackets (8:00)
After starting the season pretty lousy, the Blackhawks figured it out and they’re coming off back to back wins against Dallas and Carolina. The Blue Jackets have been inconsistent this year, showing good and bad signs game to game. These two teams split their games with Columbus winning 2-1 and then Chicago winning 3-1. I’d lean the under here but could see this game going either way so I’m laying off it.
Predators vs. Red Wings (8:00)
Both of these teams aren’t very good but Nashville is the better team in this matchup. I’ll bet a half unit on Nashville tonight, but I don’t love this matchup.
Jets vs. Senators (8:00)
In their three games against the Senators this year, the Jets have won all three matchups pretty easily. The last four games the Sens have played in though, they have kept it close with 3 one goal losses and a 3-2 win against Montreal. I’m going to take the Jets here with a half unit on the ML and to cut down on juice, a half unit on them in regulation.
Stars vs. Hurricanes (8:30)
The Stars have been underwhelming recently with only one win in their last six games. In both games against Carolina this year, they lost 4-3 and 4-1. With Dobby making his first start after being benched a few games, I think he shows up and has a good game tonight. I’d lean Carolina still wins, but I’m going to take the under here for half a unit.
Canucks vs. Flames (10:00)
After their great playoff run last year, Vancouver’s been a lousy team this year. Calgary’s all over the place and I can’t really figure them out this season. I’m going to lay off this game, but I think Calgary probably wins. There’s just too many question marks to what happens this game, so to me, its not worth betting.
Golden Knights vs. Ducks (10:00)
On Tuesday night, Vegas let the Ducks back into the game as they blew a 4-1 lead going into the 3rd period but luckily still won in regulation for a 2 unit win for me. I don’t expect that to happen again and Vegas should get an easier win here. I’m back on the Knights in regulation tonight for 2 units.
Kings vs. Sharks (10:00)
These two teams are the worst in the West. In their game on Tuesday, the Sharks won 4-3 in a shootout with SJ outshooting the Kings 40-27. I think SJ wins again here, but I don’t bet on these type of shitty matchups, especially coming off of such a close game.
