NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 2/13/21

Yesterday was a pretty quiet night with only two games but the Bruins got me a unit win on their 1-0 shutout win. Today there’s a ten game slate of games with a few during the day to get us started.

Jets vs. Senators (3:00)

The Senators blow and Winnipeg’s now 4-0 against the Sens this season including Thursday night’s easy 5-1 win, even with Ottawa outshooting them 42-26. I’m back on the Jets in regulation here for 2 units.

Sharks vs. Golden Knights (4:00)

On Thursday, Vegas took a disappointing loss 1-0 to the Ducks where they looked sloppy and played like shit. I see no way that the Knights get beat again to a lousy team as they face the Sharks today, so I’m on Vegas ML for 2 units.

Islanders vs. Bruins (7:00)

In their only matchup this season, the Islanders gave the Bruins their only regulation loss of the season in a 1-0 shutout. Both of these teams trend under and no matchup between these teams has got over since January 2018. Rask has a 2.3 GAA and Varlamov’s is 1.98 (both confirmed in goal), so I expect the under trend to keep going. Under 5 for a unit. I’d lean the Bruins too but don’t want to bet them with the under.

Panthers vs. Lightning (7:00)

Tampa uncharacteristically got crushed by the Panthers on Thursday night. I don’t expect that to happen again so I’m going back to the better team in this matchup and taking Tampa ML for a unit.

Maple Leafs vs. Canadiens (7:00)

The two best teams in the North, who also are two of the four highest scoring teams in hockey this season. In their two matchups this year, the Leafs won both 5-4 and 4-2. I still see this as an even matchup that both teams could grind out a win here. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it at 6.5.

Blackhawks vs. Blue Jackets (8:00)

The game between these two teams on Thursday night was electric. Going into Thursday night I was leaning the under on this matchup and I’m glad I stayed off it as the Jackets won a 5-4 thriller. I’m staying off this matchup again but this should be a great game.

Predators vs. Red Wings (8:00)

Nashville isn’t a great team, but they are better than the Red Wings. That being said, Detroit’s staying in games even though they’re losing them. Thursday night, Nashville won 3-2 where I got lucky on my Preds in regulation bet as Dante Fabbro scored the game winner with under a minute left. I’m staying off this game. I’d lean Nashville again but not for their price.

Stars vs. Hurricanes (8:00)

Dallas does not look good this year and the Canes have them figured out. In all three matchups this season, Carolina’s won them all including Thursday’s 5-3 win that I lost on the under. With both backups confirmed in net (technically both the third string goalies on their rosters), I’m staying off this game.

Coyotes vs. Blues (8:00)

Last night the Blues finally broke their losing streak to Arizona, winning 4-1 after three straight losses to the Yotes. The over is 3-2 in the season series between these two teams and last night three goals came off the board on replay reviews. With both backups likely in goal, I’m on the over here for a unit.

Canucks vs. Flames (10:00)

Vancouver’s going into this game on a six game losing streak and they are 0-3 this year against Calgary, all multi goal losses. I was going to probably stay off this game, but the price is just too cheap on Calgary (who isn’t a great team, but better than the Canucks). I’m taking the Flames ML for half a unit and the PL for half a unit.

Picks

2u Winnipeg in regulation (-160)

2u Vegas ML (-200)

1u Islanders/Bruins under 5 (+110)

1u Tampa ML (-140)

1u Blues/Coyotes over 5.5 (+100)

.5u Calgary ML (-135)

.5u Calgary -1.5 (+170)

Record: 73-61 (-9.81 units)
