NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 2/14/21

Yesterday was a grind, losing a little over a unit going 3-4. Winnipeg lost with less than 10 seconds left in their game against Ottawa after dominating the entire third period of a tied 1-1 game, but not getting the puck in the back of the net. Turned out for the better that I bet them in regulation instead of on the pricey moneyline. Vegas bounced back though against their biggest rival in SJ and won 3-1 without a sweat. At night, Tampa won pretty easily, the Bruins/Isles went over by a goal to lose the under, StL and Arizona poured on the goals for an easy over win and we closed the night on a disappointment from Calgary. Today we only have two games for Valentine’s Day, one at 3 and one at 7.

Penguins vs. Capitals (3:00)

In both rivalry games between the Capitals and Penguins this season, the Pens are 2-0 with 5-4 and 4-3 wins. The games between these two teams are always close and every game head to head between them has gone over 6.5 since 2018. This season, the Penguins 8-4 on the over and the Capitals 9-3 on the over at 6.5. I’m on the over today for 2 units.

Golden Knights vs. Avalanche (7:00)

Colorado hasn’t played in 12 days since the teams that they’ve been scheduled to play all have had covid issues since then. Teams have been good coming off covid layoffs this year. Historically, the Avs are 5-3 vs. Vegas and last year all four games between these clubs has gone over. I’d slightly lean the Golden Knights today and sort of like the over but I likely won’t bet this game. If anything, I’ll add the over later.

Picks

2u Penguins/Capitals over 6.5 (+100)

Record: 76-65 (-11.23 units)
