NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 2/21/21

Yesterday was a fucking tire fire, losing all 7 bets for -8.36 units. Not good. Small four game NHL slate today, to try to whittle away a little bit of the loss.

Capitals vs. Devils (2:00)

Both of these teams are on the back of playing two days in a row and both lost yesterday in games they should’ve won (losing me money on both of them). Today’s the first meeting between these teams this season and I think the Capitals should win and I’d guess that the game goes over with Aaron Dell and Craig Anderson in goal but I’m not going to bet this one.

Senators vs. Canadiens (7:00)

In two games this season between these two teams, they split one goal wins. First a 3-2 Sens upset and then a 2-1 Montreal win. Even with Jake Allen starting in goal for Montreal, the Habs should be able to take care of business against Ottawa. I don’t typically like parlays but I don’t like the -225 price on the Habs and would rather have the full game rather than limiting myself to regulation on this one so this is a rare spot I like a parlay. I’m going with Montreal parlayed for 2 units with the Jets under, and I’ll explain why on that one below. Even if Montreal loses, I still lose less than I would have if I played this straight so why not juice up the Canucks/Jets under. Plus I’ll know the Montreal results before the puck drops on the Canucks/Jets game.

Bruins vs. Flyers (7:30)

After having to postpone the second and third periods of the first outdoor game at Lake Tahoe yesterday between Vegas and Colorado due to the sun melting the ice, the NHL moved today’s game to 7:00 tonight to cut down the risk of the same thing happening again. In this matchup I’d lean the Bruins just because the Flyers still are missing some of their top guys with covid. I’d also lean the under here but I’m not betting the game.

Canucks vs. Jets (10:00)

As I said on Thursday’s blog, games between these two teams trend heavily under. These teams split games this season with the Jets winning 2-0 on Thursday and the Canucks winning 4-1 earlier this year. Both games this year stayed under and the under is now 13-2-1 between these teams in their last 16 games going back to the 2015 season.

2u parlay: Montreal ML / Canucks/Jets under 6 (+189)

1u Canucks/Jets under 6 (-110)

Record: 86-82 (-22.85 units)
