After a bad few days on a losing streak, I cut back on most bets yesterday, stayed off most of the slate and finally got back in the win column with a win and my first push of the season (on a very low under bet that’s SUPER rare for me at only 5 goals). So we’re back, I guess. Needed the mental victory on that one more than I needed the unit I won on it. Today we have a six game slate and I’m breaking it all down but keeping the betting light again.
Devils vs. Sabres (7:00)
Last night the Sabres made me sweat out my bet against them and the under, but in the end, my hometown team made me happy with their loss, cashing my Isles ML bet and pushing the under. In their last game against NJ, they surprised me and won 3-2. With that win, the Sabres are now 2-1 this season against the Devils (both wins were by a goal, the Devils win was by 2). I’m going back to betting against Buffalo tonight with a half unit on the Devils.
Capitals vs. Penguins (7:00)
Besides the Caps 3-1 win (with 69 total shots in the game) a week ago, every game between these teams going all the way back to 2018 has gone over. Prior to the Caps winning last week, Pittsburgh was 3-0 on the season against Washington, despite these rivals matching up very well. I’m going back to the over in this game tonight for a unit.
Blue Jackets vs. Blackhawks (7:00)
In four games between these two teams this year, they’ve matched up pretty evenly with each team winning two games. Three of the four games went under. I think this game’s a toss up in every direction.
Senators vs. Canadiens (7:00)
On Sunday, Montreal let me down where they played down to Ottawa’s level and it took Jake Allen having a phenomenal game in goal for them to even get to overtime to lose as a huge -225 favorite. Carey Price back in net for the Habs tonight which i see no real difference since Allen was the Canadien’s best player on Sunday night. Tonight I would think that Montreal bounces back to even the season series at 2, but I don’t think its worth betting at -225 even though the Habs are the superior team here. All three games between these two teams have gone under this year and although I don’t love it, Ottawa +1.5 is 6-1 in their last seven games against Montreal including all three this season.
Red Wings vs. Predators (7:30)
These teams both suck. These teams split their first two games this season. I’d lean Nashville here but Detroit keeps it close with teams so I like Detroit +1.5 but at -185, I’m not personally taking it tonight.
Canucks vs. Oilers (10:00)
The Oilers have been on fire lately. In two games to start the season between these teams, they split with Vancouver winning 5-3 then Edmonton answering back 5-2. I’d lean Edmonton and the over here but I’m not betting it.
