I’m glad I didn’t place any bets yesterday and I’m continuing tonight with no gambling. Breaking down every NHL game on the big slate tonight though.
Sabres vs. Devils (7:00)
The Sabres beat the Devils 3-2 where NJ came back after Buffalo got off to a 3-0 lead in their last game on Tuesday (loss for me). Tonight I think the Devils bounce back and get a win. If I wasn’t taking the day off, I’d take New Jersey on the moneyline tonight.
Islanders vs. Bruins (7:00)
Both of these teams have trended under this season and I’d assume that continues tonight as long as Varlamov’s in goal for the Isles. In both games between these teams this year, the Isles won both of those matchups, 1-0 and then 4-2. If I was betting tonight, I’d likely take the under here.
Capitals vs. Penguins (7:00)
Before their last two games which both went under, every game between these teams has gone over since 2018. I think tonight’s game goes over again but the last two games staying under scares me a little bit. The Penguins are 4-1 against the Caps this season, which is pretty significant, although these teams do match up well and both generate a ton of shots on goal.
Lightning vs. Hurricanes (7:00)
After getting shut out against the Hurricanes 4-0 last Saturday, the Bolts bounced back and won the last two games against Carolina 4-2 and 3-0. I think the Central Division winner this season is one of these two teams and although I’d slightly lean Tampa tonight, this is a tough matchup with more uncertainty with Curtis McElhinney projected to start for the Lightning.
Panthers vs. Stars (7:00)
Dallas has been pretty bad this season but snapped their six game losing streak with a 3-0 shutout win for Dobby in their early 5:00 game against Florida yesterday, where they were outshot by the Panthers 43-26. I think Florida bounces back with a win tonight.
Blue Jackets vs. Blackhawks (7:00)
These middle of the road teams have matched up very well this season all in very good games. The Blackhawks are 3-2 against Columbus this year all in close games including the Hawks 6-5 shootout win Tuesday night. With Malcolm Subban confirmed in net for Chicago, I’d lean Columbus here tonight.
Senators vs. Flames (7:00)
For as bad as Ottawa is, they’re surprisingly coming off back to back wins against Montreal. Tonight they meet an injured Calgary team for the first time this season as the Tkachuk brothers face off against each other. I’d lean the Flames in this matchup.
Red Wings vs. Predators (7:30)
Both these teams are bad. Nashville’s now 2-1 against Detroit after their 2-0 win on Tuesday night. In matchups between these two teams, the under is also 2-1. I’d slightly lean Nashville here but wouldn’t put much stock into it.
Jets vs. Canadiens (8:00)
After starting off the season very hot, the Habs have been on a bad skid recently losing five of their last six games which lead to them firing head coach Claude Julien yesterday. The Jets have been pretty decent as of late and I’d expect this to be a pretty good game. I’d slightly lean Montreal with a new interim head coach behind the bench.
Canucks vs. Oilers (10:00)
Edmonton’s been a powerhouse and are on a 10-2 stretch in their last twelve games, including in their 4-3 comeback win against Vancouver on Tuesday night off a three goal 3rd period. This team’s a wagon and I’d take Edmonton to win again tonight.
None, I need a couple days off gambling
