Yesterday was profitable with a 2-1 winning day. Both wins came easy with shutouts by the Flyers and the Bolts and the loss was even on the right track, it just took Vegas till overtime to win instead of just 60 minutes. Back at it on a slate filled with day games today.
Rangers vs. Bruins (12:00)
Friday night, the Rangers had a surprisingly great win against the Bruins in Madison Square Garden as they beat the B’s 6-2 on a big three goal second period. The Bruins are the best team in the East and I think they bounce back today to beat the Rangers on the road. I’m on the Bruins moneyline for half a unit.
Sabres vs. Flyers (3:00)
The Sabres were pretty much dead yesterday without their best player Jack in the lineup with injury and they won’t have their better goalie in Linus Ullmark for at least a month. In yesterday’s day game, the Sabres didn’t get on the score sheet at all as they got shut out 3-0 by the Flyers with Brian Elliott in goal and outshot significantly 39-23. I’m back on the Flyers to win again today and taking them for a half unit on the ML. I’m gonna get a little nuts too and parlay the puck line with the Caps puck line for half a unit.
Predators vs. Blue Jackets (3:00)
After last night’s 2-1 win, the Preds are now 4-1 this season against Columbus. I’d guess Nashville wins this one again but it stays close. Not betting this game.
Devils vs. Capitals (3:00)
Yesterday I liked the Capitals in this matchup to beat the Devils but since I’m not having a great year, I was hesitant and didn’t pull the trigger to bet on the Caps. The Capitals got off to a hot 3-0 start in the first period and then rode that to a 5-2 win. Good to see my thoughts on games proving to be right again as I try turning this whole thing around this year. With Aaron Dell in goal for the Devils, I’m backing the Capitals for half a unit on the ML in addition to the gamble on puck line parlay.
Islanders vs. Penguins (5:00)
Including last night’s 4-3 overtime win against the Isles last night, Pittsburgh’s now 4-1 in games in this matchup this season. With both backups likely starting tonight, I’m going with the over on this one for half a unit. As long as Sorokin starts for the Islanders, I’m on the Pens ML too for half a unit since I have more trust in Casey DeSmith here.
Blackhawks vs. Red Wings (7:00)
Last night the Red Wings got their second straight win in a 5-3 thriller against the Blackhawks. For as bad as their record looks, Detroit isn’t as bad as they seem. That being said, I think Chicago bounces back with a win tonight. Just not enough to bet on it though.
