NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 3/11/21

After a quiet night in the NHL last night, we got a huge slate again tonight. Breaking it all down and hoping to stack up some winners!

Sabres vs. Penguins (7:00)

The Sabres were able to get some scoring on Tuesday night as it took till a shootout for the Flyers to beat them 5-4 on the way to Buffalo’s eighth straight loss. The Sabres haven’t played the Penguins yet this year but I’m not expecting much out of them. Since I’ve been getting let down by regulation lines and puck lines this year, two units on the Penguins ML.

Bruins vs. Rangers (7:00)

These teams have played four times this season and the B’s are 3-1 on the season against the Rangers. All three wins stayed under and the loss went over. I’m on the Bruins for a unit here.

Islanders vs. Devils (7:00)

The Islanders are buzzing with six straight wins and eight in their last nine. The Devils suck. All three matchups between these two teams have stayed under this season and the under is 9-3 in their last 12 games since January 2018. Neither team is scoring much with the Devils 27th in the NHL in goals for/game and the Isles are 14th. The Islanders are very good defensively and 2nd in goals allowed per game. I’m on the under here for a unit.

Flyers vs. Capitals (7:00)

These two teams have faced off twice this season and split those games with the Flyers winning 7-4 and then the Caps winning 3-1. I think these teams match up pretty well so I’m skipping this one.

Hurricanes vs. Predators (7:00)

Carolina’s 3-0 this season against Nashville but the Preds have kept these games too close for comfort. Both 4-2 wins had the fourth goal scored on the empty net and the most recent game on Tuesday, Carolina came back with three unanswered goals to win 3-2 in overtime. Skipping this game, Carolina should win but with how close these games have been I’m not taking them at -220.

Blue Jackets vs. Panthers (7:00)

Columbus hasn’t been a good team this year and Florida’s been overachieving. On Tuesday night, Florida never trailed and won 4-2 against Columbus after a Florida 4-3 win and a Jackets 3-2 win earlier this season. I’m going back to Florida here tonight for half a unit.

Maple Leafs vs. Jets (7:00)

The Leafs are now on a three game losing skid after their 4-3 loss to the Jets on Tuesday night while outshooting Winnipeg 39-23. Previously the Leafs won 3-1 earlier this season the first time these teams played each other. I’d think Toronto bounces back to win this one tonight but I’m not touching it.

Red Wings vs. Lightning (7:30)

I thought Tampa was going to easily roll past Detroit on Tuesday night and instead it took till Blake Coleman scored in overtime for Tampa to win 4-3, losing my regulation only bet on Tampa. The ML at -370 is fucking ridiculous here or in any hockey game where a few bad bounces can lead to a huge upset loss, so I’m not betting this one. I’d likely take Tampa in regulation if I didn’t keep getting screwed by betting those.

Stars vs. Blackhawks (8:30)

Patty Kane’s 1000th game on Tuesday night didn’t go the way Chicago wanted it to as Dallas cruised to a 6-1 win over the Blackhawks. Malcolm Subban blows. Tonight Kevin Lankinen’s back in net for Chicago and I’d think they bounce back against a Dallas team that’s struggled this season. I’d lean the Hawks ML and the first period under tonight (which was 16-2 in Dallas games prior to their last three games it went over in) but I’m not betting either of them.

Flames vs. Canadiens (9:00)

Both of these teams had high expectations going into this season and both have had struggles and fired their head coaches. Earlier this season they split their two games with a 4-2 Habs win followed by a 2-0 shutout win for Calgary. If Jake Allen starts for Montreal tonight, I’d lean the Canadiens but not enough to bet on it.

Picks

2u Penguins ML (-210)

1u Bruins ML (-175)

1u Islanders/Devils under 5.5 (-120)

.5u Florida ML (-135)

Record: 117-116 (-32.88 units)
