After the early Bruins game where Boston just decided not to show up, I crushed the night slate and went 4-0 for another winning day! Only six games today, I’m breaking them all down.
Wild vs. Coyotes (2:00)
Minnesota’s been surprisingly really good so far this year. On Friday night, the Wild beat the Yotes 4-0 on the likely rookie of the year Kirill Kaprizov’s first NHL hat trick and Cam Talbot’s first shutout of the season. In the first two games between these teams this season, they split those games with Minnesota winning 5-1 and then Arizona answering back with a 5-2 win. I think the Wild win this one riding hot on Friday’s win. Half unit on Minnesota moneyline.
Red Wings vs. Hurricanes (5:00)
These teams have only played once ten days ago, where Carolina scored three goals in the third period to win 5-2. In their last game on Thursday game, the Red Wings lucked into a shocking 6-4 win over Tampa while getting outshot 44-23. I don’t see that kind of game happening again today. The Canes are the way better team here and should be able to take care of Detroit. On Carolina ML for a unit.
Blue Jackets vs. Stars (5:00)
Zach Werenski won last night’s game for Columbus 4-3 in overtime, making them now 3-2 against Dallas this season. The books gave us an easy OU of 5 yesterday which was a no brainer bet for me. Today its back to 5.5 which I’d still lean but not betting it. I’d also lean Dallas here but not enough to bet the game.
Devils vs. Islanders (5:00)
Last night the Islanders beat the Devils 3-2 for their eighth straight win and their third against Jersey this season. I’m going back to the well on the Isles with a unit on the ML, which again sort of surprises me that its under -200.
Avalanche vs. Kings (5:30)
In their third game against LA this season on Friday night, the Avs did what they were supposed to and beat the Kings 2-0 for Grubauer’s fourth shutout of the season. Colorado controlled the puck all game and severely outshot LA 46-18. As long as Grubauer starts today, I’m going to take Colorado for a unit. If Miska starts I’m skipping this game.
Senators vs. Maple Leafs (7:00)
The North leading Leafs are currently on their worst stretch of the season losing three of their last four games. Tonight against Ottawa seems like the perfect spot for them to make that right and beat their Ontario rival, who are last place in the North. I’m not personally betting this game at -250, but Toronto should win it.
.5u Minnesota ML (-190)
1u Carolina ML (-245)
1u Islanders ML (-185)
1u Colorado ML (-245)
Record: 126-118 (-26.58 units) after the Wild win
