Last night I came a goal short for the under in the late game from going undefeated on a pretty good day, going 3-1 and winning 3 units on a pretty shitty slate. Onto a huge slate of NHL games tonight!
Penguins vs. Sabres (7:00)
Last night the Sabres got embarrassed 5-2 to the Pens for their fifteenth, yes FIFTEENTH straight loss. Right back at it tonight with the Penguins with 2 units on the Pens in regulation. The moneyline thats now over -300 I don’t think is worth it.
Bruins vs. Islanders (7:00)
After a week without playing due to COVID issues, the Bruins are back on the ice again tonight to face off against the Islanders, who have owned them this season. The East leading Isles are 4-0 against the B’s this season. I do think that these teams are closer in talent than their season series record shows. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Bruins won tonight although I’d lean the Islanders. Skipping this game. I’d lean the under here too as this series, the Bruins and the Isles all trend under but at only 5 goals, I don’t see an edge in betting this.
Flyers vs. Rangers (7:00)
I had a lot higher expectations for both of these teams coming into this season and they’ve disappointed. These teams are 2-2 against each other after their last game where the Rangers had the biggest blowout of the season as they embarrassed Philly 9-0. I’d lean that the Flyers bounce back from that blowout but I’m not touching each side of this game. The last 3 games between these teams went over, both teams have trended over and I don’t have much faith in the goaltending on either side, I like the over here. I don’t love the 6.5, so I’m going to play the alternate line of over 6 at -130.
Capitals vs. Devils (7:00)
The Caps are on fire this season and have won 7 of their last 8 games and are 4-0 against the much worse Devils this season. I’m going back to the Capitals for a unit here who should be able to outscore NJ at home.
Blue Jackets vs. Hurricanes (7:00)
After two back to back losses to Columbus that took extra time, Carolina answered back in the last game between these teams with a 3-0 shutout on Monday night. Even though the Jackets have played the Canes close this year, Carolina’s the better team here and I’m going back to them for a unit.
Senators vs. Maple Leafs (7:00)
The Leafs have sucked lately but got a win in their last game against Calgary on Saturday as they won 2-0. Ottawa hasn’t been awful lately with 3 wins in their last 5. This season even with how much of a difference in talent there is between these teams, they’re 3-3 against each other. I’d lean the Senators +1.5 (which has decent value) in a Leafs win tonight but I don’t think either are worth betting on. At some point these teams gotta come back to reality and the Leafs are going to blow out the Sens.
Blackhawks vs. Panthers (8:00)
On Tuesday night, after the Blackhawks got out to a 3-0 lead, Florida crawled back into the game and ultimately lost 3-2 with some awesome scoring chances that the Panthers couldn’t capitalize on to tie up the game (which lost both my bets on Florida ML and the over). I thought Florida outplayed Chicago but its tough to beat the same team five times in a row as the Panthers were 4-0 against Chicago this season going into that game. I think Florida bounces back tonight with a win, so I’m back on both Florida ML and the alternate line of over 6 for half a unit each.
Predators vs. Red Wings (8:00)
Both of these teams suck this year. I think Nashville’s a bit better than Detroit and they are 3-2 against the Red Wings this year. I’d lean the Preds at home here but I don’t think there’s any value in betting them at -180. I’d lean the under as well which has hit in the 3 games that Nashville won (the two Detroit won went over) but not betting it.
Wild vs. Blues (8:00)
The Wild have been overachieving this year and the Blues are underachieving especially recently. Because of COVID postponed games, this is the first matchup between these two teams. I’m skipping this one. I’d lean the Wild win, but not enough to bet on them against a talented Blues team that just isn’t playing great.
Stars vs. Lightning (8:30)
On Tuesday night, the Bolts held on to win 2-1 for their fourth win in four games this season against Dallas and their fifth straight win. I’ll go back to Tampa tonight for a unit as these matchups this season aren’t nearly as good as the Cup Finals were last year between these teams.
Avalanche vs. Golden Knights (9:00)
This matchup to me is without question going to be the West Division Finals in the playoffs. Vegas has been my pick to win the Cup all year and lately the Avs look unbeatable on the win streak they’re on. In four games this season, these teams split those games. This game’s too tough to predict so I’m skipping it. Can’t wait to watch this matchup though.
