NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 3/29/21

Had another winning day yesterday and continue to see the board well, going 3-1 to win 1.5 more units. Seven NHL games tonight to keep the winning streak comeback going!

Sabres vs. Flyers (7:00)

The Sabres are by far the most hopeless franchise in hockey and the losing streak is now 17 straight games (15 of those in regulation), which I believe is an NHL record. Betting against the Sabres is like printing money every game and I’m going to keep riding this streak. One of those two games that the Sabres needed more than sixty minutes to lose in was their last game against the Flyers, where I had Philly in regulation and the Flyers ended up winning 5-4 in a shootout. Prior to that game, the last three games they played, the Flyers shut out Buffalo 3-0. Despite the Flyers struggles this season, I’m going right back to betting against the Sabres here with 2 units on the Flyers ML which is cheaper than I expected to be.

Penguins vs. Islanders (7:00)

Both of these teams have been fantastic this season. The Penguins have been crushing this season series though as they’ve won five of seven games against the Isles this year. I think the Penguins win here tonight, but I don’t really see any edge in betting this game since these teams match up pretty well against each other.

Maple Leafs vs. Oilers (7:00)

In a 4-3 overtime win on Saturday night, the Leafs got their sixth win in eight games against the Oilers this year. Five of the eight games between these teams this season went over. I’d lean the Leafs and the over in this one, but I don’t really want to bet it. The Leafs have been inconsistent recently (besides their last 3 game win streak) and I don’t trust betting them. I really do think the entire North Division isn’t good this year and we’ll see if that plays out in the playoffs.

Avalanche vs. Ducks (9:00)

I love the Avs tonight. Colorado’s been on a warpath lately. They’re coming off a loss in overtime to the Vegas Golden Knights (in a game that I think is a preview, and the result of the Western Conference Finals) but before that had won 8 of their last 9 games (the loss was without Grubauer in net and needed overtime). The Ducks are the second worst team in hockey and coming off an overtime win yesterday as a +180 underdog to the wildly inconsistent Blues. Grubauer’s confirmed in goal tonight and I could see the Avs blowing out the Ducks tonight. Colorado has the highest ML price of any game this NHL season at -430 tonight, so I’m going with still the quite expensive line of the Avs in regulation at -265. With that high price, I’ll just go with a unit here. If it was cheaper I’d probably go with 2 units.

Flames vs. Jets (10:00)

I got really lucky middling the OU on the Flames/Jets last game on Saturday night to hit a nice parlay that I screwed up my math on in the morning but it ended up working perfectly on a push of the under hedge as Calgary won 4-2. With Hellebuyck back in net, I think the Jets answer back with a win tonight so I’ll take them for half a unit.

Golden Knights vs. Kings (10:00)

Vegas is the best team in hockey. The Kings aren’t very good. Alex Pietrangelo was back on the ice for morning skate today so he’ll likely be returning to Vegas’s already good lineup. Vegas is 3-1 this season against LA and the one loss was while the Knights had several guys out with injury. Tonight I’m going with a unit on the Vegas ML and another unit on Vegas in regulation to cut down on some juice. Also, I’m finally putting in my future here on the Knights to win the Stanley Cup for 2 units at +700.

Sharks vs. Wild (10:30)

The Wild have been surprisingly very good this season and have won 8 of their last 10 games (the two losses were both to a fantastic Colorado team). I don’t think they’ll have any problem tonight against the shitty SJ sharks, so I’ll go with the Wild ML for 1.5 units.

Picks

2u Flyers ML (-180)

1u Colorado in regulation (-265)
