Last night had a few big swings late in games to make me pretty much break even going 5-4 instead of winning big. Vegas was a big one as they gave up a 2-0 lead in the third period but thankfully went on to win in overtime. Since the NHL is awful at scheduling (haven’t complained about that much recently) there’s only one game today sandwiched in between a 15 game slate yesterday and a 14 game slate tomorrow.
Red Wings vs. Lightning (3:00)
Yesterday in what was a real barn burner of a double shutout. Both Curtis McElhinney and Thomas Greisse recorded shutouts in a 1-0 Detroit win in the eighth round of a shootout, ending Tampa’s four game win streak. With wins in their last two matchups against the Bolts, Detroit has made the season series between these teams much closer than it should be at 4-3. I think Tampa bounces back big in this final matchup of the season between these teams with a win. Tampa hasn’t won a game in regulation on the road in Detroit this season (their one win at Detroit was a 4-3 overtime win). I think that changes today but I’m not putting much stock into it. Half a unit on Tampa in regulation. The ML is too expensive here to trust it.
