Got back on the right page last night going 4-1 for +2.8 units to get back in the positives. The only loss came on the Sabres but good for Michael Houser, happy for the guy. What a story. Tonight there’s a nine game slate of some good NHL games to win more!
Senators vs. Canadiens (7:00)
The pesky Sens have been decent lately despite already being eliminated from the playoffs, winning seven of their last ten games. Technically Montreal hasn’t locked up their playoff spot yet but with a ten point lead over Calgary with only a few games remaining, they’re pretty much in. Ottawa’s 5-4 on the season against the Habs and I’d lean that Montreal ties up the season series tonight, but I’m not betting on this game at all.
Rangers vs. Capitals (7:00)
The biggest story in the NHL this week came from noted scumbag (who I actually think is fantastic for the game of hockey, people need someone to hate) Tom Wilson pretty much slammed Panarin to the ice in anger. The NHL then didn’t suspend him for it and just gave him a $5k fine. Which is nothing. The league probably should’ve just given him a game sussy to shut the Rangers and the rest of the league up but they didn’t. Deal with it. There is going to be FIREWORKS tonight in this game. If there were props for penalty minutes available I’d hammer them, but can’t find them. The Rangers are 4-3 on the season against Washington this season but don’t have anything to play for other than the revenge factor against Tommy Wilson. To also add to the drama in New York, they released a statement about how they disagreed with how the NHL handled Tom Wilson that just made them look like pussies. Today that drama continued with the Rangers firing their GM and President. Chris Drury, my favorite hockey player ever takes over both of those roles and I really hope he has a ton of success doing so. The Caps have something to play for tonight fighting for first place seeding in the East, two points behind Pittsburgh. I’d slightly lean the Caps and the over tonight but not betting either. I wish there was penalty props and can’t wait to watch this game.
Blue Jackets vs. Predators (7:00)
The Preds are playing good hockey but haven’t locked up the final playoff spot in the Central yet with a four point lead on Dallas with three games remaining in the season (Dallas has four left). They need to keep winning to solidify that spot. On Monday night I had to sweat out the Preds after they blew a 3-0 lead going into the third period before winning 4-3 in overtime. This season Nashville’s 6-1 against the shitty Blue Jackets and I think that continues tonight. I’ll take the Preds for 2 units on the ML.
Lightning vs. Stars (7:00)
Dallas still has an outside shot at making the playoffs, four points back from Preds with five games left to play on the season. Tampa’s locked into the playoffs with not much to play for anymore. This season in the season series between these two teams that met in the Cup Finals last year, Tampa’s 6-1 against Dallas. The Bolts are coming into this game on a four game home win streak (four wins in their last five games) and Stars are coming into this game on a four game losing streak. I’ll take Tampa for a unit.
Blues vs. Ducks (8:00)
The Blues are most likely going to make the playoffs, with a five point lead in the West for the final open slot over the Arizona Coyotes. They’ve been hot lately, winning five of their last games. The Ducks are statistically the second worst team in hockey (only two points ahead of the Sabres). St. Louis is 5-2 against Anaheim this season and I’d expect them to win again tonight. I’ll take the Blues in regulation for 2 units.
Wild vs. Golden Knights (8:00)
In a WILD game on Monday night that started with five goals between these teams in the first 15 minutes of the game, Minnesota beat Vegas 6-5 scoring the the tying and winning goals in the final two minutes of the game. Minny is the only team with a winning record against Vegas this season winning the last five of seven games against them. I’d lean that the Knights answer back here but I’m not betting this game.
Flames vs. Jets (9:30)
The Winnipeg Jets have sucked lately, losing their last seven straight games. Not a great way to be heading into the playoffs. Calgary hasn’t been awful lately. The Jets are 5-3 this season against the Flames. I’d lean that Winnipeg makes things right in this game tonight but no way I’m betting this matchup.
Sharks vs. Avalanche (9:30)
On Monday night the Avs rallied with three goals in the third period for an overtime win over the Sharks. Colorado’s one of the best teams in hockey this year and they’re trying to chase down Vegas for first place in the West. The Sharks stink and after Monday the Avs are now 6-1 on the season against them. The moneyline price is too expensive to me here so I’ll take the Avs in regulation for two units.
Coyotes vs. Kings (10:00)
The Yotes suck just as much as the Kings do so its sort of surprising that they still have an outside chance at making the playoffs (not gonna happen). The Kings are 4-3 on the year against Arizona. I’d lean that Arizona wins this game tonight to even up the season series but I’m not betting on this game.
