Last night with the Avs and Bruins closing out their series, I won a huge 7.92 units. Tonight there’s five more games with Tampa, Winnipeg and Vegas having the chance to close out their series as well. 

Game 5: Penguins vs. Islanders (7:00)

The Islanders beat the Penguins on Saturday to tie the series up 2-2. I still like the Penguins to win this series, but it’s not going to come very easily for them and I could see this series go all the way to seven games. With the opportunities to hedge out of some of my series bets, I bought out of part of it with three units on the Isles yesterday. I think Pittsburgh answers back with a win tonight so I’ll jump on the Penguins ML tonight for a unit.

Game 5: Canadiens vs. Maple Leafs (7:00)

The Leafs won a big 5-1 game at home in Game 2 to tie up the series after the Habs took Game 1 in Toronto. The Leafs are the much better team in this series and they should win but none of the teams in Canada this season have been reliable enough for me to want to bet on them. I’ll lay off this game but I’d lean Toronto wins it.

Game 5: Panthers vs. Lightning (8:00)

Tampa’s been buzzing this series in the Battle of Florida and lead the series 3-1 after a dominant 6-2 win in Game 4. This series shifts back to Florida tonight where the Bolts can close this out on the road. I think they do that and end this series tonight, so I’m on the Lightning moneyline tonight for a unit. This series has been flying over with it hitting easily in three of the four games this series. I’ll split the over with a unit each on over 6 and on the alternate 5.5 that has a pretty good price requiring one less goal to hit.

Game 4: Jets vs. Oilers (9:45)

The Winnipeg Jets have put a stranglehold on the Edmonton Oilers, going up 3-0 in this series after their overtime win brought on by the Oilers’s huge choke job last night. Halfway through the third period the Oilers had a solid 4-1 lead before allowing the Jets to score three goals in three minutes including the last two within 16 seconds of each other to tie the game up. An insane way to blow a series. I have a three unit bet on the Oilers to win this series, which is pretty much already dead. I’ll chase this with 2 units on the Jets tonight to hopefully cut down on that loss if the Oilers get swept. If the Oilers win this game, I’ll just keep chasing the Jets. The Oilers outshot the Jets all three games in this series but still ended up with disappointing losses in each of them. Stick a fork in Edmonton, they’re done.

Game 5: Golden Knights vs. Wild (10:30)

The Vegas offense was firing hot in Games 3 and 4 on the road in Minny with Marc Andre Fleury looking incredible in goal in all four games this series. Now this series goes back to Vegas in Game 5 with the Golden Knights able to close it out in the Fortress filled with a full capacity crowd. I think the Knights end this thing tonight to go on to play the much anticipated series against the Colorado Avalanche in the West Finals. I’ll take Vegas for 2 units.
