NHL Playoffs 2021 Series Preview: Hurricanes vs. Lightning

This should be a great series for the Central Division Finals between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Tampa Bay Lightning. Both of these teams played in highly entertaining series in the first round to get here with Carolina knocking off Nashville in six games and Tampa winning the Battle of Florida against the Panthers in six games as well.

During the regular season these two teams matched up very evenly each winning four of the eight contests they played. They also match up almost exactly the same across all stat categories.

I think this series ends up going to seven games with both teams trading games back and forth in a very close series. I think the addition of Kucherov and Stamkos for the playoffs will give Tampa a slight edge to beat out Carolina, just like they were a major factor in their first round series against Florida.

I will tread a bit lighter on this series to start off with two units on Tampa to win the series at a pretty cheap price of -140 and a unit on Tampa in Game 1 with the line at a pick em.

During the regular season in the eight games these teams played, under 5.5 was 6-2 but in the first round of the playoffs, the over was 4-2 in Carolina’s series against Nashville and 3-3 in the Battle of Florida so I’ll give it a game or two before jumping on either side of that to see if this becomes an offensive or defensive battle.

Series Bets:

2u Tampa (-140)

Game 1 Bets:

1u Tampa ML (-110)
