Last night the Leafs choked again losing Game 7 to the Habs, which I loved to see. The Islanders tied up their series with an overtime win after blowing a 3-1 lead. Tonight there’s only one game with Game 2 for the Central Division between Carolina and Tampa.
Game 2: Hurricanes vs. Lightning (7:30)
In a high energy Game 1 for the Central Division Finals that saw Tampa win 2-1 on the road with Barclay Goodrow’s third period goal with 7:21 left to go in the game. In Game 1, Carolina outshot Tampa 38-30 but Vasilevskiy was fantastic in goal for the Bolts. The game winner was the only five on five goal scored in the game, with both teams scoring before that on a power play. Carolina’s power play unit only going 1 for 5 was a key factor in the game. Even though it’s only Game 2 in this series, this almost feels like a must win for Carolina at home before going on the road. I think if Tampa wins this game, this series is pretty much over going back to Tampa for Games 3 and 4. I think Tampa has the slight edge and wins this close series so I’ll go back on the Lightning ML tonight, but trend a little lighter with just a unit on it.
