Last night I went 2-1, losing 0.9 units with the Bruins winning in overtime as the East series shifted to Boston. In the Central, Nikita Kucherov took a stupid penalty in OT for Carolina to win on the road in Tampa but the game stayed way under for a win on that. Tonight, Game 2 in the North and Game 3 in the West.
Game 2: Jets vs. Canadiens (7:30)
Carey Price made 27 saves and Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Eric Staal scored in the first five minutes of the game for the Habs to roll to a 5-3 win on the road in Winnipeg. The whole game was overshadowed by Mark Scheifele’s hit on Jake Evans in the last minute of the game. Scheifele got a 4 game suspension for the hit, which I think could easily swing this series in Montreal’s favor. Scheifele is Winnipeg’s best player and without him the Jets could have some issues. I’d lean that the Jets tie up the series at home tonight but I’m not betting it and just skipping this game tonight. If Montreal wins tonight, I’ll look to start betting the Canadiens every game until the series is over to cover the 2.86 units risked on the bet for the Jets to win the series.
Game 3: Golden Knights vs. Avalanche (10:00)
After getting shit kicked in Game 1, Vegas played a much better game in Game 2 that went to overtime before Colorado got the game winner on an awesome shot by Mikko Rantanen to take a 2-0 series lead. Vegas outshot the Avs 41-25 in Game 2 but Philipp Grubauer, who got his first Vezina nomination was incredible and only allowed two goals. Tonight the series shifts to Vegas in a must win game for the Golden Knights. They HAVE to win this game. I’ll take Vegas for a unit to keep this series interesting. I really like Vegas +1.5 but I don’t think its worth it at the too expensive price of -250, so I’ll just stick with the moneyline. I’d lean the under as well but could see that getting busted by an empty net goal so I’ll lay off either side of the OU.
