PLL Weekly Gambling Preview – Week 2 – 2021

Last week the PLL kicked off Opening Weekend of their third season that showcased some fantastic lacrosse. With betting lines now available on these games, I’m breaking them all down and started the season great going 4-0 last week! This week the PLL heads to Kennesaw State University in Atlanta, GA so let’s build on that great start with some more winners!

Chaos vs. Waterdogs (6/11 7:00)

Last week in a rematch from last season’s championship with the Whipsnakes, the Chaos got wrecked in the first half and went into halftime down 10-1. In the second half the Whips defense let up and the Chaos ended up losing 13-7, getting outworked and beat in every aspect of the game. Last year’s expansion Waterdogs didn’t open the season very well against this season’s expansion Cannons, losing 13-7. Last season, the Waterdogs beat the Chaos 10-9 in the one game they played in group play. I think the Chaos are the better team though and I’ll take them for half a unit tonight to beat the Waterdogs.

Whipsnakes vs. Cannons (6/12 12:00)

The Whips didn’t slow down from their back to back championship form of last season and stomped on the Chaos last week in the rematch of last year’s championship with a 13-7 win (they were up 10-1 at halftime). The expansion Cannons were pretty good lead by Lyle Thompson and the old veteran league founder and split their two games on opening weekend with a 12-11 loss in a thriller on opening night to the Redwoods and a 13-7 win against the Waterdogs. Neither of those teams are the Whipsnakes though and I think the Whipsnakes get a big win this week. The ML is pretty expensive here so to cut down on some juice I’ll take half a unit each on the ML and the -1.5.

Redwoods vs. Atlas (6/12 3:00)

The Atlas got obliterated in week one against the Archers in a very lopsided game losing 18-6. I don’t think the Redwoods are as good as the Archers but they played an awesome game, winning 12-11 against the expansion Cannons to start the season last Friday and then backed that up to go 2-0 with a 14-11 win over the Chrome on Sunday. The Atlas are worse than both of those teams. I think the ML is too expensive on the Woods this week but I’ll take a unit on the Redwoods -2.5 in this game.

Chrome vs. Waterdogs (6/13 1:00)

After a disappointing 13-7 loss in Week 1 to the Cannons, the Waterdogs got their first win of the season on Friday in a 14-12 upset over the Chaos. Last week the Chrome lost 14-11 to the Redwoods. Last year, when these teams played in group play, the Chrome won 13-12 in a tight game. I’d expect both of these middle of the pack teams end up playing close again in this game. I think the over/under is too low here at only 20.5, so I’ll take the over for half a unit.

Chaos vs. Archers (6/13 3:45)

The Chaos apparently suck this year taking their second loss of the season 14-12 to the Waterdogs on Friday night after getting pumped in Week 1 by the Whipsnakes in a rematch of last year’s championship. The Archers on the other hand were the most impressive team on opening weekend, crushing the Atlas 18-6. Last season these teams only met in the bubble once during the semifinals where the Chaos got a 13-7 win to advance to the finals. I think the Archers get their revenge for that game with a big win this week. The moneyline is way too expensive for me at -375, so I’ll take the goal line on the Archers -2.5 for a unit.

.5u Chaos ML (-159)

.5u Whipsnakes ML (-265)

.5u Whipsnakes -1.5 (-152)

1u Redwoods -2.5 (-122)

.5u Chrome/Waterdogs over 20.5 (-103)

1u Archers -2.5 (-143)

Record: 5-3 (-0.28 units)
