Today we have the final meaningless game of the NHL regular season, a makeup game between the Jets and Kraken for a snowstorm in Winnipeg. Can’t wait till tomorrow night when the Stanley Cup Playoffs begin!
Jets vs. Kraken (2:00)
Both of these teams are out of the playoffs which makes it disappointing seasons for both of them. The Kraken didn’t get the inaugural season that they had hoped for, coming into today’s game with a lousy 27-48-6 record. They’re coming off a 3-0 shutout win against the Sharks on Saturday that a four game losing streak. Seattle hasn’t been good on either end of the ice this season. They only averaged 2.59 goals per game, fourth fewest in the NHL and allowed a ninth most in the NHL average of 3.46 goals per game. The Jets were very inconsistent throughout the season with a 38-32-11 record on the year. They’re coming into today’s season finale at home on a three game winning streak after beating the Flames (who rested a bunch of their key players) 3-1 on Friday night. Winnipeg has been below league average on both ends of the ice this season, scoring an average of 3 goals per game and allowing an average of 3.06 goals per game. The Jets won both matchups between these teams, winning in a 3-0 shutout in Seattle on December 9th and 5-3 at home on February 17th. I expect them to sweep the Kraken this season and I’ll take the Jets ML for a unit and the puck line for half a unit. I’d lean the over but not enough to bet it at 6.5.
1u Jets ML (-186)
.5u Jets -1.5 (+132)
Record: 808-604-32 (+19.36 units)
