Swept the board last night going 6-0 to win 9 units all in big come from behind wins. Huge night! All three series bets that were at risk survived to Game 6 with the chance to win two of those tomorrow. Let’s crush this slate.
Game 6: Bruins vs. Hurricanes (7:00)
After they evened up the series with two home wins, the Bruins got blown out 5-1 (cashed my over) in Carolina in Game 5 on Tuesday and they now find themselves on the brink of elimination at home tonight. The B’s have played entirely differently at home in this series as they have on the road. They should get Hampus Lindholm back tonight as well to help bolster up their defense. I think the Canes end up winning this series either tonight or in Game 7 at home on Saturday. To hedge out of my series bet and future on the Bruins, I’ll take the Hurricanes TT over 2.5 for 1.5 units. I’ll also take the over 5.5 for a unit, which has hit every game this series. So hopefully the Canes score 3 goals and end up losing with the Bruins forcing Game 7.
Game 6: Lightning vs. Maple Leafs (7:30)
The Leafs pulled off a great third period comeback with three goals to beat the Bolts 4-3 in Game 5 at home to put the back to back Cup Champs on the brink of elimination. Over the last two seasons where they went on to win those Stanley Cups, the Lightning have been perfect bouncing back from losses in the playoffs, not having lost back to back playoff games since they got swept by the Blue Jackets in the first round in 2019. With that same logic, I bet my game of the year hammering the Bolts in Game 4 which cashed so easily on Sunday. I’d expect a similar game tonight. I have a lot riding on Tampa to win this series and I’m still confident that they do, but I have to partially hedge this a bit with the Leafs TT over 2.5. I could see a 6-3 style blowout win for the Lightning where the hedge can still cash with this series going to seven games. I’ll take the Leafs TT over 2.5 for a unit as a partial hedge, letting the other 2 units on the Lightning ride. I’ll also take the over in this game for a unit. If I didn’t have any series bets in this game, I’d be hammering Lightning ML.
Game 6: Blues vs. Wild (9:30)
In Game 5 in Minnesota on Tuesday night, the Wild fell apart in the third period, giving up a hat trick to Vladdy Tarasenko to lose 5-2 and they’re now a game away from elimination. I expected this series to go seven games and already cashed my over 5.5 games prop in this series. I have great value at +220 on this series to go to Game 7 along with props on both teams to win the series in exactly seven games. So at this point those bets are just Wild moneyline tonight (which is a pick em currently at -110 at the time of writing this blog). I think the Wild win to extend this series to seven games but to hedge that a bit while still leaving the ability to win everything, I’ll take the Blues TT over 3 for 1.5 units. I’ll also take the over in this game for 1.5 units and ideally the Blues score 3 or more goals in a losing effort.
Game 6: Kings vs. Oilers (10:00)
Leon Draisaitl scored back to back goals shorthanded and then on the power play in the third period of Game 5 on Tuesday to come back and tie the game at 4-4 and force overtime against the Kings before Adrian Kempe ended it for LA with the game winner 1:12 in overtime. That puts the Oilers a loss away from elimination on the road tonight and it lost my series bet on them to win the series in six. At this point, I don’t see them winning the series at all and I’ll be rooting for the Kings here on out in this series and in their three wins, the Kings have dominated play. Going into the playoffs, I expected the Oilers to cruise past the Kings and get eliminated pretty easily in the second round but evidently, they’re even struggling against LA. The way that this team is set up just isn’t built to win a Stanley Cup. Can’t rely on two incredible offensive players with no depth behind them and a complete lack of defense and goaltending. I’d lean the Kings probably win the series tonight but not enough to bet on it. I love the over though, which is 4-1 this series. Especially if the Kings are up in the third period I could see chaos with Mike Smith sitting on the bench with the net empty pretty early. I’ll go with 2.5 units on the over 6.
