I went 3-4-1 last night but with my two bigger plays winning I pretty much broke even, only losing 0.18 units. Before a huge slate tomorrow with 30/32 NHL teams in action, we have just two games tonight.
Panthers vs. Blackhawks (7:00)
We’ve got a huge mismatch to start off the night. The Blackhawks after moving their two best players in Patrick Kane and Max Domi at the trade deadline are the worst team in the NHL this season, coming into tonight’s game with 22-37-5 record. They have only one win in their last six games and after a shocking 5-0 win against the Senators on Monday (huge quadruple loser for me), they followed that up with a 4-3 loss in Detroit on Wednesday. Chicago has the worst offense in the NHL by far, and their defense and goaltending is only marginally better. They’re horrendous. The Panthers are on the outside of a Wild Card spot looking in, a big fall from last year when they won the President’s Trophy. They’ve played well recently with three wins in their last four games, coming off a 2-1 grind of a win against the Golden Knights on Tuesday to improve to 32-27-6 on the season. Florida’s offense has been pretty good this season but their defense and goaltending has been struggling all season and is inconsistent at best. The Blackhawks actually won the first game between these cross-conference teams back on October 25th, winning 4-2 at home. I’d expect Florida to answer back with a big win tonight. The moneyline at -480, the regulation line at -278, and the puck line at -180 are fucking insane for a team thats outside of a playoff spot this far in the season and there isn’t a chance in hell I’d bet those. Even the team total at 4 is juiced all the way up to -152. I’d lean the over as well but not enough to bet it. I’ll lay off this game entirely.
Flames vs. Ducks (9:00)
I broke this matchup down in depth with my article on StatSalt. I’d expect the Flames to win easily but the -345 moneyline and even the regulation line at -205 are way too expensive in this game for me to bet on. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet on that either between these two teams. I’ll stay off this shitty game entirely.
Game Bets
Giving myself the night off. Can’t wait. The prices on these games just aren’t worth it.
