Happy Easter! Every team in the NHL was in action with the first 16 game slate in history and I absolutely CRUSHED it, going 16-2 to win 12.98 units! Amazing day, my best of the season. After that loaded slate, we have just two games tonight. Let’s sweep em!
Flyers vs. Bruins (6:00)
Not a good Eastern Conference matchup here to start off this Eastern Sunday slate. Last night the President’s Trophy winning Bruins tied the most wins in a single season in NHL history with their 62nd win of the season, beating the Devils 2-1 at home to improve to 62-12-5 on the year, extending their win streak to five in a row, with twelve wins in their last 13 games. They can hold that spot in the record books alone after tonight’s game to become the winningest team in a regular season in NHL history. Boston has the best defense in the NHL and the second best offense in the league, trailing only the Oilers. The Flyers on the other hand are having a terrible season, eliminated from playoff contention with a 29-37-13 record. They’re on a six game losing streak after getting shut out 4-0 on the road on Long Island last night. Philly’s struggled on both ends of the ice this season, especially offensively. The B’s easily won both previous games between these teams at home this season, winning 4-1 on November 17th and then shutting out the Flyers in a dominant 6-0 shutout win on January 16th. I expect the Bruins to etch their names in history with a win on the road tonight, completing their season sweep of the Flyers. Although the moneyline is a bit too expensive at -250, they should be able to win easily inside of 60 minutes, so I will take them in regulation for two units. I’d slightly lean the under here but not enough to bet it.
Ducks vs. Avalanche (8:30)
This is a huge mismatch in the Western Conference as I broke down in depth in my article on StatSalt. The Avs should win this game easily win this one to extend their win streak to five straight after a close 4-3 win against the Kings last night. The moneyline is too expensive but I’ll take them in regulation for 1.5 units. I’d slightly lean the under but not enough to bet on it.
2u Bruins in regulation (-150)
1.5u Avalanche in regulation (-177)
