I’m a day late watching it since I had stuff to do last night, but Charity’s season of The Bachelorette is nearing its end. After hometowns last week, she’s down to her final three men, Dotun, Xavier, and Joey and this week they head to Fiji for fantasy suites.
Xavier has the first date of the week. They start off on the beach with a Fiji queen and king thing with Charity getting carried in on a throne like a queen, a traditional Fiji wedding ceremony. During dinner, Xavier tells Charity that he has some doubt and that gives her some doubt. He also tells her that in a past relationship he was unfaithful to one of his exes and cheated on her, which he felt like he had to tell Charity. They have a whole discussion on it and Charity says that what Xavier did to his ex was exactly what her ex had done to her. As he tries to justify it and explain how he grew from it, he does a real lousy job at it and you can tell she’s already disconnected from the conversation. This kid’s done. Not at all what to say with just one week left. Charity straight up tells him that she doesn’t know if he’s someone that could be loyal to her. He says that in his heart there is no doubt in their relationship, but in his mind there is. He gives the shitty answer that he needs that night’s date to figure out if they have a future. Charity handles it fantastic and doesn’t open the fantasy suites card, sending Xavier home. Clearly he isn’t ready for an engagement. The quickest exit that I remember during a fantasy suites week.
Meanwhile, we get a cut back to Aaron, who was eliminated last week making his way to Fiji to try to win Charity back…that’s not how this works.
The next date of the week, Joey, who’s family gave Charity some doubts and questions on if he’s being his real self last week during hometowns, which ended terribly for them with Charity getting in the car crying and not telling Joey what was wrong. They start their date in fun fashion, riding around in a side by side ATV. After that, Charity brings up that his uncle said it didn’t feel like Joey was being his full self. He says that he was nervous and just uncomfortable in that date. Charity is happy with his clarification and they make out at a waterfall. At dinner, Joey tells Charity that not only is he falling in love with her, but he is in love with her. Charity is thrilled by it and responds, telling him that she is in love with him as well.
“Should you choose to forgo your individual rooms, please stay together in the fantasy suite”
Cue the romantic music. Their overnight date seems to go great.
Last up for a date this week, the front runner Dotun. They go jet skiing together to start off their date, going to a sandbar on a private island. At dinner, Charity tells Dotun that he’s in love with her as well.
“Should you choose to forgo your individual rooms, please use this key to stay as a couple in the fantasy suite”
Charity and Dotun are very happy to wake up together with their overnight date going great.
Aaron returns and finds Charity at the resort to talk to her after getting sent home the week prior after hometowns. She’s happy but shocked to see him and they talk, with Charity saying that she was falling in love with Aaron and didn’t know if she made the right choice in sending him home. We’ll have to find out how that cliffhanger ends.
Next week we have the worst episode of the season, Men Tell All, then its back to Fiji in a couple weeks for the dramatic season finale.
