NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 11/11/24

After my big day on Saturday, I went 0-2 last night on the NHL, losing 3.15 units. Weird night. We have an early start for Veteran’s Day on a six game slate. Let’s bounce right back again!

Sabres vs. Canadiens (12:30)

My Sabres seem to have figured something out as we’re now on a three game win streak. After blowout wins against the the Sens and the Rangers, we grinded out a solid 3-2 shootout win agains the Flames on Saturday afternoon after blowing a 2-0 lead. The Habs stink. They’re on a miserable six game losing streak after a 4-1 loss in Toronto on Saturday and have just two wins in their last twelve games. I like Buffalo to keep the hot streak going in this matinee at home and I’ll take my boys for half a unit. I feel like the total’s a complete toss up.

Flyers vs. Sharks (7:00)

Terrible matchup here. Both of these cross conference teams stink and have struggled on both ends of the ice. The Flyers are coming off a 4-3 shootout loss in Florida on Saturday (one of my only two losses on that slate since I had the Panthers in regulation). They’ve only picked up one win in their last four games. I still think the Sharks are the worst team in the NHL. They’re playing well lately though, in the second half of a back to back, coming off a 1-0 shutout win last night on the road against the Devils for their fifth win in their last seven games. I’d lean Philly wins this one at home, especially with the Sharks in the second half of a back to back, and I’d slightly lean the under, but I’m not touching this game.

Penguins vs. Stars (7:00)

This cross conference matchup isn’t great. The Penguins, who are coming off a solid 4-2 win in their rivalry matchup on Friday night in Washington, DC, have struggled quite a bit this season on both ends of the ice, especially defensively. The Stars have been very good, but have just one win in their last four games, coming off a 4-1 loss in Winnipeg on Saturday. I like Dallas to win here on the road and I’ll take them for a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it.

Flames vs. Kings (8:30)

I don’t think this Pacific Division matchup is all that good. The Flames are on a three game point streak and playing inconsistent, coming off a 3-2 shootout loss to my Sabres on Saturday afternoon where they fought back to erase a 2-0 deficit but couldn’t get it done. They have just two wins though in their last nine games after their hot start to the year. The Kings, who just dominated the Blue Jackets with a 5-2 win on Saturday have been very good. I like LA to win this one on the road and I’ll take them for half a unit.

Avalanche vs. Predators (9:00)

Going into the season I thought this would be a fantastic game, but both of these teams have been so disappointing in their starts to their seasons. The Avalanche are coming off a big 6-4 win against the Hurricanes on Saturday night, but have just two wins in their last six games after a hot streak of five wins in a row. They’ve been fine offensively but horrible defensively. I had such high expectations for the Preds this year, with them adding Stamkos and Marchessault in the offseason, but they’ve been terrible in their 5-9-1 start. They ended a three game losing streak with a 4-0 shutout win against Utah at home on Saturday, just their second win in their last seven games. Nashville won the first game between these teams at home a week ago 5-2. I’d slightly lean the Avs win this one at home but I’m not touching the side. I do like the over though, which I’ll take for half a unit.

Golden Knights vs. Hurricanes (10:00)

Spectacular cross conference matchup for tonight’s nightcap out West. These are two of the top teams in the NHL right now. The Golden Knights are 9-3-2 and a perfect 8-0 at home, coming off a disappointing 4-3 overtime loss in Seattle on Friday night. They’ve won six of their last eight games, going 6-1-1 in that span. The Canes have been fantastic at all, having an eight game win streak come to an end with a 6-4 loss in Colorado on Saturday night. I think this game’s a complete toss up on the side, but I do like the over quite a bit, which I’ll take at 6 for a unit.
