NHL Daily Gambling Preview – 12/12/25

On last night’s huge NHL slate I fell a bit short, going 11-12 to lose a unit. Just two games tonight before another big slate tomorrow, I have just one play, let’s win it!

Blues vs. Blackhawks (8:00)

Not the best game here in the Central Division. The Blues have played a bit better lately, with four wins in their last eight games, but they’re still a bad team. They’re in the second half of a back to back tonight, coming off a bad 7-2 loss in Nashville last night, an easy winner on my over in that game. Struggling on both ends of the ice, St. Louis has dropped to 11-14-7. The Blackhawks started the season hot, but they’ve played awful lately, falling to 13-11-6 on the year. They’re coming off a 3-0 shutout win at home against the Rangers on Wednesday (double loser for me), just their third win in their last eleven games. Their offense hasn’t been great outside of Connor Bedard, but their defense has been pretty solid. The first game between these teams at the beginning of the season was a blowout, with the Blackhawks winning 8-3 on the road. I’d lean they win again here with the Blues in the second half of a back to back, but I’m not touching it. I’d lean the over, but don’t like that enough to bet it here with two struggling offenses. I will take a shot on Connor Bedard to score a goal tonight for half a unit as my only play on this game.

Mammoth vs. Kraken (9:00)

This Western Conference game isn’t great either. The Mammoth started the season really well, but have come crashing down to 14-15-3 on the year. They’re on a three game losing streak coming off a 4-3 loss at home to the Panthers on Wednesday, with just two wins in their last nine games, and four wins in their last 19. The Kraken are in a slump right now too, ending a six game losing streak with a 3-2 overtime win at home against the Kings on Wednesday night, turning my night into a loser. Matty Beniers tied the game up on the power play with 26 seconds left in regulation, then Vince Dunn ended it 1:21 into overtime, once again on the power play. Seattle’s 12-10-6 now on the season, and although they’ve been good defensively, they’ve struggled offensively. I think Utah’s the better team here, and they should win at home, but the price at -185 is too expensive for me to bet on. I’d also lean the under, but don’t think that’s worth it either at 5.5. I looked at a few combination of point props for Clayton Keller, Nick Schmaltz, and Dylan Guenther, but their prices aren’t worth betting in any of those combos, so I’ll just stay off this game completely.

Bets

.5u Connor Bedard over 0.5 goal (+145)

Record: 240-252-1 (-32.27 units)
