First slight losing night of the NHL season for me yesterday, going 2-1 to lose 0.32 units. No big deal. Let’s bounce back on a huge 13 game slate tonight!

Sabres vs. Blackhawks (7:00)
I like my Sabres to get their first win of the season in tonight’s home opener and I’ll take them in regulation for half a unit. I also like the over, which I’ll take for half a unit, and I’ll take a stab on Patty Kane getting a point in his homecoming, which he always seems to do, for half a unit.
Penguins vs. Canadiens (7:00)
This should be a fun game, but I think the Habs are the better teams here and I’ll take them for half a unit. I’d slightly lean the over, but not enough to bet it.
Lightning vs. Capitals (7:00)
Awesome matchup here in the East. Alex Tuch was impressive with two first period goals last night in his Caps debut on the road against the defending Cup Champs. This team’s going to be very good. I like Washington to win again and I’ll take them for half a unit on the road at a great +170 price. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it.
Maple Leafs vs. Senators (7:00)
The Leafs bounced back from their opening night loss and I like them to win tonight against a Sens team that I expect to be awful, especially losing their captain Brady Tkachuk in the offseason. I’ll take Toronto for half a unit. I’d lean the over very slightly, but I’m not touching it.
Flyers vs. Hurricanes (7:00)
I’m kind of shocked that the Canes are 0-2 to start their season defending their Cup win last year, although they did have two very tough matchups to start the year. I like them to get their first win on the road tonight and I’ll take them for a unit. I’d lean the under, but not enough to bet it.
Blue Jackets vs. Mammoth (7:00)
Although they beat my Sabres at home in their first game of the season, I don’t think the Jackets are going to be good this year, and I’m big on Utah this year. I’ll take the Mammoth for a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it.
Oilers vs. Kraken (7:00)
After a pathetic opening night loss in overtime at home to the Canucks, the Oilers bounced back with a dominant 5-0 start on the road on their way to a 9-7 win in the second half of that home and home. I like the Oilers to win here at home and I’ll take them in regulation for half a unit. I also like the over, which I’ll take for half a unit.
Islanders vs. Devils (7:30)
This matchup isn’t great in the Metro. I’d slightly lean the Devils on the road and the under, but I’m not touching this game whatsoever.
Wild vs. Bruins (8:00)
This should be a decent cross conference matchup. The Wild are the deeper better team here and I like them to win at home, and I’ll take them in regulation for half a unit with Boston on the road in the second half of a back to back. I’d slightly lean the under, but not enough to bet it.
Predators vs. Stars (8:00)
I was pretty shocked last night with the Stars ruining my winning streak to start the season as they got shut out 4-0 at home to the Blues. I like them to bounce back here on the road against the Preds, who aren’t great, and I’ll take them for a unit. I’d lean the under, but not enough to bet it.
Avalanche vs. Blues (9:00)
Big mismatch here, especially with the Blues in the second half of a back to back and I’ll take the Avalanche in regulation for 1.5 units. I’d lean the under very slightly, but not enough to bet it.
Canucks vs. Flames (10:00)
These are two of the worst teams in the NHL. I’d lean the Flames win here on the road, but not a chance I’m betting them. I like the over though, which I’ll take for half a unit at + money.
Sharks vs. Kings (10:00)
I think this year this California rivalry flips. Macklin Celebrini is going to lead the Sharks to being a playoff contender while the window for the Kings is over in my eyes, and I don’t see them making playoffs. I was going to parlay him to get a point with the Sharks moneyline at home tonight, but that only takes it from -115 to +106, so I’ll just stick with the moneyline for half a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it at 6.5.
