Last night I won a unit on the NHL, going 2-2. Let’s follow that up with a third winning day in a row for today’s huge 14 game slate!

Bruins vs. Flyers (1:00)
Not the most interesting game to start the day. The Flyers offense has been putrid in their 0-3-2 start. I like the Bruins to win this one at home and I’ll take them for half a unit. I’d lean the under, but not enough to bet it at 5.5.
Devils vs. Canucks (3:30)
Pretty big mismatch for this cross conference matchup. The Devils haven’t looked all that great in their, but they’re the way better team here. This feels like a good get right spot for Jersey and I’ll take them in regulation for half a unit. I’ll also take the over for half a unit.
Sharks vs. Oilers (4:00)
This should be a really fun Pacific Division matinee in San Jose. Last year every game between these teams were very entertaining. I’d slightly lean the Oilers win at home here, but not enough to bet them. I love the over though, which I’ll take for a unit.
Panthers vs. Wild (6:00)
Awesome cross conference matchup here between two solid contenders. I’d lean the Panthers win their home opener tonight, but not quite enough to bet them. I’d also lean the under, but the right move here is just staying off this game. Should be awesome great game.
Sabres vs. Mammoth (7:00)
This cross conference matchup isn’t great. The Sabres have not looked good, even though we’re 2-2 to start the season. Even in the wins against the Blackhawks and Wild, I’d say we didn’t look great. Utah’s looked awesome in their start and I like the Mammoth to bounce back from their 6-1 loss in Boston on Thursday. I’ll bet against my boys and take the Mammoth for a unit. I also like the over, which I’ll take for half a unit.
Canadiens vs. Red Wings (7:00)
Neither of these teams have looked good to start the year, but Montreal’s the way better team. I’ll take a half unit shot on them in regulation to end their three game losing streak at home. I like the over quite a bit too, with both defenses looking pretty bad, and I’ll take it for a unit.
Senators vs. Predators (7:00)
This is a boring cross conference matchup to me. Both of these teams have been better than I expected, but I still don’t think either of them are great. I’d very slightly lean Ottawa wins at home and I’d slightly lean the under, but I’m not touching this game.
Penguins vs. Stars (7:00)
Interesting game here with these two teams playing quite different styles of hockey to start the year. I’d lean the Stars win here on the road, especially with the Pens in the second half of a back to back, but I’m not betting them at -180 coming off two dominant shutout wins against the Sabres and Sharks. The total feels like a toss up to me, so I’ll lay off this game.
Blackhawks vs. Hurricanes (7:00)
This is one of the biggest mismatches you could get this season with the horrible Blackhawks facing the defending Cup champs. I’ll take the Canes in regulation for 1.5 units. With the over at just 5.5, I like that as well, which I’ll take for half a unit. Carolina could hit that themselves tonight.
Blues vs. Blue Jackets (7:00)
This should be a decent cross conference game, but it’s just a boring matchup to me between two mid-tier teams that likely both miss playoffs. The side feels like a toss up to me, with a slight edge to St. Louis to end their three game losing streak with a win at home, with Columbus in the second half of a back to back, but I didn’t even consider betting it. I do like the over though at 5.5, and I’ll take it for half a unit.
Avalanche vs. Maple Leafs (7:00)
This isn’t a great cross conference game, but I wouldn’t really say any game that the Avs play this year are going to be spectacular matchups. I haven’t been impressed at all with the Leafs, while the Avalanche have looked like the best team in the league. I’ll take Colorado in regulation for a unit. I’d lean the over, but not enough to bet it juiced up at 6.5.
Islanders vs. Lightning (7:30)
After using their first game of the season against the Rangers, the Lightning have looked solid in their last three games. I’m not sold at all on the Isles being great, so I like Tampa to win here on the road on Long Island. I’ll take them for half a unit. I’d lean the under, but not enough to bet it.
Flames vs. Ducks (10:00)
Big mismatch in this Pacific Division matchup, even with the Ducks in the second half of a back to back. The Flames are horrendous, one of the worst teams in the league. I’ll take Anaheim for a unit. I also like the over, which I’ll take for a unit as well.
Golden Knights vs. Kings (10:00)
This game isn’t great in the Pacific to end the night. I think Vegas is very good again, coming off their rookie Trevor Connelly completing the comeback to beat the Leafs in a shootout on Thursday night (nice win for me). The Kings have looked horrible. I’ll take the Knights for a 1.5 units. I like the over too, which I’ll take for half a unit at +114. I’ll also take Jack Eichel, who leads the league with twelve points in five games, to get over 1.5 points for half a unit.
